pyrobot Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 So wait, the patch notes say there will be 6 bosses in Explosive Conflict but you only loot 4 times in the encounter. Bioware, understand this, it is not "2 bosses" if you loot just one of them. You can't say council is 8 - 16 bosses, it's just 1, you can't say that the dual boss fights in this are more than one boss. Fix your patch notes please.
MaverickXIV Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 And they would have gotten away with it, too, if it wasn't for that meddling Pyrobot!

I understand each and every Boss mob as being an individual boss. However, putting 2 or more together just makes it a single encounter. You still have 2 or more bosses in the 'encounter.'

Boss, when put in patch notes, is supposed to mean the same as encounter. If you add 3 encounters that have 4 bosses each, and say "There are 12 new bosses in the next patch", it is very very misleading.

I can understand it being misleading if it said 'Boss fights' I don't disagree that they could've chosen different words, but I have never would apply it as you have. When I have to fight 2 elites in one encounter, I am fighting 2 elites, not 1. When I fight 2 strongs in one encounter, I fight 2 strongs, not one. EDIT: I looked at the patch notes and do not see where it says 6 bosses... Looked by every mention of the Ops Explosive Conflict Edited March 25, 2012 by monkgryphon

Alright, that's fair, I was just enraged when I found out it was actually 4 encounters and not 6. It just pisses me off more and more, I really think I just need to quit the game. ALL I want to do is raid, and there isn't enough raiding, should I just quit?
monkgryphon Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 New games focus on levelling more than endgame. I suggest being patient, and as a year goes by there will be a bunch more endgame Ops and such.
pyrobot Posted March 25, 2012 Author Posted March 25, 2012 Yeah, looks like I'll just resub wow and come back in 2 - 3 years if the game even still has end game content at that point.
tazrok Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 woule love a link to the notes ur talking abouyt pleasse as i can seem to find them tnx
Elfstrom Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 1000 Mobs / NPC's that are part of an encounter = 1 Boss! so yay, in the awesome messiaspatch there are 4 new bosses (4 bosses, 1 operation; 1 new armor set from this 4 bosses). a bit too little?! even when the difficulty is much harder and the nightmare mode will be release later on (=strech patch 1.2 content.. cheap).. 4 bosses?!
pyrobot Posted March 25, 2012 Author Posted March 25, 2012 4 bosses is still weak. patch 4.2 for WoW had 7 bosses, a new tier of armor, a new set of dailies, a new zone. Oh my, look at how little bioware is really doing for end game players.

If we wanted to be hear about 4.2 and the excitement there this would be a blizzard forum.

Silberfalke Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 4 Bosses is pretty weak! If the next Operation is not coming pretty soon, i see a big problem for this game. The first contenttier was so facerollingly easy, it only took a few weeks to get bored with 10 bosses. I cant imagine that those 4 encounters keep people interested in raiding for 2-3 months. Even if you do it all in nightmare, which isnt in the game with 1.2.
Redklaw Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Think you are forgetting the two new world bosses in your count...
Anti_Bodies Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 6 bosses doesn't have to mean 6 completely separate boss fights, just that they created 6 bosses. oh my gawd 'bioware lied to us' youre making it sound like theyve actually been using our sub money to fund a child sex trade in a 3rd world country, when in reality, all they did is say there's 6 bosses when theres actually only 6 bosses. the nerve of them!! yah srsly

grucho Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 4 bosses is really low, and I thought Blizz with their 7 bosses was cutting it short...

sjmc Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 I don't raid, so maybe I am just misinformed, but I always thought that a "boss" was a particular mob of higher-than usual difficulty. If there were two mobs, then that would be two "bosses". Whether they came in the same encounter or not. That said, if there are more than one, then perhaps they are not as powerful as a "real" boss that is strong enough to take on the party by himself. Whether they have loot or not is not part of whether a mob is a "boss", although bosses usually have loot and good loot at that.

If I had to guess, more people will burn out from not progressing than burning through and having nothing left to do.
