DIMadman
Would it be possible for hostiles to show up on the mini map? I'm really thinking for pvp applications, but it is needed in pve too. Why exactly aren't hostiles shown before the engage in combat against you?

DIMadman
I find it hard to believe that a feature that has been in most other games, including Galaxies, is not featured in this. "A republic commando is spotted near the central assault!" Oh really? Where? Don't see any incoming on my map. I know this is 3000 years before lando, but considering that people have built hyperdrives, I think functional GPS tracking should be included. Not being able to see hostiles coming at you or going away from you makes strategy a bit more difficult. Minimap bugs out on void star all the time where you cant even see your own players. Fix this little issue before you start waving nerf bats at everyone.
Technohic
I consider the lack of seeing reds on my map a feature, not a lack of one.
Meatyx
The minimap does show you where enemies are. However you must be in combat with them so therefore, hit someone and you should see there little red dot running around.
TUXs
I consider the lack of seeing reds on my map a feature, not a lack of one. No kidding. The lack of it is the BEST thing this game has done for PvP.

vartius
How do you figure that? Stealthers become much more powerful if you can track enemy movement, for one. Communication needed for a team encounter success is another. Otherwise the zerg trains will just go in opposite directions naturally, as a 5v3 is better than a 5v5, for example. That and counter capping in Civil War would be next to impossible given that one guy standing at the middle tower could track basically all enemy movement without sacrificing (since presently you would have to stand at a vantage point away from a tower to track enemy movement and even then you need to collate information from various perspectives around the map) anything for the team. Stealth should have a function other than making a person untargetable/unhittable. And what you are describing already happens in voidstar and alderaan all the time. The zerg goes where there is least resistance anyways. A minimap really doesn't change anything other than letting you see what's in the general area of like 50-200m of what's around you. I am not talking about the regular map with opened by pushing m. I am talking about the mini map/radar. This doesn't show you the whole of the map even at the least possible magnification. Being able to see hostiles, and even friendlies to some extent, makes things quite a bit better for pvp. I guess ilum and outlaws den are dead too, but the feature would be great in world pvp also. Technohic
It's also nice to not stand right by the turret and have people actually need to get a visual. Allows you to set traps (sort of). Not to mention; when everyone is fighting at one door on voidstar, you can take advantage and try to actually sneak in and take the other. I like that there is communication over just a red dot that everyone just mindlessly swarms at.

That's not what I am talking about at all. I am talking about seeing them as hostiles before they attack you. I wouldn't mind group members being visible on voidstar past the first room too. The radar/minimap needs to actually work. This has pve applications too in helping people avoid agro from mobs while doing quests or just puttering around looking for datacrons. Visible red dots on the mini map of non agro hostiles needs to be implemented. Instead, we are getting champ gear that can be paid for with cash. prodigyqnz
Forget Seeing enemies the system works fine as it is. (appear when hostile/in combat) How about Better distinguishing Party Members. Everyone is Pink.. cant tell who leader is so if someone calls for help in their direction you have to mouse over all the pinks to find them. How about Party/Raid Nameplates not be a shade of the same Green/blue as same faction Leader One Color Player Marked in Party or Ops Another color or the symbol instead of a pink man. How about adding Directional Arrow and Range to Party Tabs. So you know where people are in ratio to you. All these things were in older games.. what gives.
