LKaras
Tell me what you all think about this idea: I've bounced around from various crafting professions. From synthweaving, to artifice, to biochem, to synthweaving, and back to biochem. And something that I've come to realize is that Jedi Consulars are at a distinct disadvantage to troopers for this reason. Troopers have the companion Tanno Vik who has a +5 critical chance to critically craft Armormech schematics. Consulars' only companion who has such a boost is Tharran who boosts Cybertech (which nobody chooses as a profession). The various critical boosts that different classes get can make quite a difference based on what professions are most popular within a class. To eliminate this subtle bias, I suggest the following: we allow the droid companion to specialize in a specific mission type (Biochem, Bioanalysis, Diplomacy, etc.) in which he can have either a +5 critical chance or +10 efficiency. This way a player is not at an inerrant disadvantage in crafting based on the skill he or she chooses. Also, it would allow more diversity within each crafting profession. I.e. One who specializes in Underworld trading could get Mandalorian Iron easier than one who specializes in Armormech. To be honest, it just kind of bugs me that none of my companions have any sort of boost at all for Biochem.
