ProfessorWalsh
I'm a major PVP player. I play PVP a lot. Many people are more PVE focused but I am more PVP focused. I like PVP matches that are close, games where there was stiff competition, rather than simply slaughtering the enemy team. Right now... The Imperial faction imbalance ruined Open World PVP for me. I don't like fighting an enemy that can field, without even trying, 5 times more people than we can. It becomes a Zerg-fest. The only incentive to get Imps to switch to Rep and help to correct the population imbalance. With the new patch you are specifically adding same faction Warzones to cater to the overpopulated faction. BioWare you need to stop doing that. The Imperials are already overpopulated, one of the only things that was getting them to re-roll Republic was to get more variety in PVP warzones. If you are going to cater to them then at least come up with a plan to fix the imbalance first.
Kai-Eurah-Tird
It's not their fault that Imperials have better looking zones, armor and efficient questing areas. While Republic have to slug through segmented sprawls of emptiness. . . Oh wait. . .

Because its just as fun for imperial players to sit there and hope a pub pops his head out of their base. I have a 50 pub and a 50 imp, it sucks on both of them

I have a 50 pub and a 50 imp, it sucks on both of them At least an Imp can at least farm armaments. The Reps can't. If we want to even consider Ilum we need to put together a full operations group and usually we can wipe the zone two to three times of Imps, then have the Imps show up in MASSIVE FORCE and just crush us. DarthOvertone
Per this interview: http://pc.ign.com/articles/121/1219843p1.html, BW is addressing the faction imbalance by encouraging it to be more skewed than ever. Based on the proposed changes, your concerns for Pub v Imp balance and OPvP really don't matter. BW is abandoning Ilum and OPvP and will be making WZ participation same faction across the board. There is no factional war anymore. So if you like being a Pub, play it because you like it. The majority of the SWTOR player base want to be Imps and BW is clearly committed to catering to their wants and needs for the forseeable future. So much for Jedi v Sith. Time to roll a Sith like everyone else and participate in the all Imp wars.

Yes they NASCAR 500 at CA, I don't do it on my rep or imp anymore. Ilum doesn't exist to me I can live without the bags I'd rather just farm the warzones and not spend 4+ hours a day trying to complete a daily. Metalmac
CAN NOT FIX STUPID. Bio Ware did the stupid thing and did not look at all the MMOs out there with this problem.
Talizzar
I am just the opposite. I would rather not play another WZ again. Bored to tears with all of them. Same faction pvp is bad. Making more same faction wz's is terrible. I agree there will never be anything close to a population balance in this game. Fighting against your own team loses the thrill. Another game that had so much potential to succeed and is failing hard.
Badlander
Will not matter much after next patch at least where Ilum is concerned. Ilum will be a dead empty rock in space. Edited March 5, 2012 by Badlander

Bioware is catering to their player base, which means mostly Imperials. It isn't biowares fault the the star wars universe and lore all make imperials ******, and the republic just a bunch of hippies.

Yesterday in a huttball I saw in general "****, I am coming for you!" so I preceded to find him and kill him too bad the match ended right after that so we couldnt keep it going.... stuff like that makes the game kinda fun most MMO's that would never happen. Lijun
As far as aesthetics go, Bioware knew the Empire would appeal more to young men than the Republic... aesthetically. In example: How many young men would rather toss pebbles over unleashing giant bolts of purple lightning? Secondly, many people are noticing the 'mirror' classes are have subtle differences which usually favor the Empire side of the mirror class, In example: Jedi project takes about 1 second to hit the target while the Sith Shock hits instantly, also the Jedi knockback 'Force Wave' has an animation it must complete before it does damage or knocks back enemies, making it easily avoidable. While the Empire version knockback does instant damage and instantly knocks enemies back. Do you think game developers dont realize how these differences greatly impact game play? They created the game, they know it, they know what they are creating and they know who they are favoring. Bioware didnt seem to want faction balance from the get go imo. Kurin
Maybe roll a different server? On my server (Jekk'Jekk Tarr), as an Imperial, it feels 50/50 balanced. I see about the same number of Huttball matches as Voidstar as Alderaan. And about half my Huttball matches are against Pubs, so it's not even that all of my Huttball matches are same faction. Also, the PVP servers tended to be the ones with the worst imbalance. The PVE servers are far more balanced. This should have been intuitively obvious right when they created the server types, if you understood MMO psychology even a little bit.
