Faydra
I've been reading "Tales of the Bounty Hunters" and soaking up Mando lore. However, it did get me to thinking - WHY did my character become a bounty hunter? She wasn't born a Mandolorian, so something else motivated her. Kinda figured that people who come from happy home lives don't go out and become bounty hunters (aside from Mandos). Also thought that it'd be hard to be focused on the hunt if you have loved ones left behind. Right now, I'm thinking something along of the lines of Corusant street rat (orphan seemed too cliche). Thinking that her mom was busy with work and trying to feed a pack of kids, dad was dead/absent/abandoned. Thought maybe there was a friendly BH on the block who took a shine to her and became kind of a father-figure, showing her how to shoot, etc. Figured the street rat beginning would explain the need to survive above all, the desire for glory, and the indifference towards both the empire and the republic. I'm going to think on expanding this for more development (like how Braden found her). What about the rest of you - have you thought about what drove your character to the life of the hunt? grandmthethird
a street rat would explain why my BH has a lust for credits, but he is very well spoken for that imo. i do not discount the possibility of him being a rich kid. the rich love to hunt, so this could explain his effectiveness with a blaster. so maybe he was a rich boy, that was disowned by his family, and he had to find a usful way of making credits, to get back to the lifestyle he grew up with. or maybe his family fell victim of a hutt's power play. resulting in the family losing all the money and ending up dead. again resulting in my BH doing what he does best to earn some credits. (never trust a hutt) Edited March 5, 2012 by grandmthethird
Kagi
My guy was born a Mando, but was disowned after he publicly spoke out against the Mand'alor's decision to put the clans in service of the Sith again. It didn't help matters any that his fiancée (non-Mando, but becoming one) was Force sensitive, and the Jedi and Sith showed up at basically the same time to try and recruit her, and in the ensuing furball, she was killed and he earned a pretty nasty lightsaber burn across the right side of his face in the process of murdering them all. This may or may not have had a direct result in him gutting the Sith 'ambassador' to the clans like a fish.
