Redmarx
There's really no class that needs a nerf. Maybe powertechs at a stretch, but really they are fine. Operatives and snipers could use a small buff. Nothing too major. There are nerf-cryers all over this forum. They are just bad players who don't really understand PVP. Class balance overall is fairly good. Rated warzone data is needed before doing anything about marauders, powertechs, and assassins. OGsam
The logic isn't there and there's no need for hate in order to explain it. Example: class A is "OP" as opposed to class B, C, D, E, F, G and H. Solution 1: Nerf (Nerf's a negative term, let's call it balance for the sake of the argument) class A. Solution 2: Buff classes B, C, D, E, F, G and H. Please tell me solution 2 is a smart move in terms of manpower on behalf of BW/EA? Thanks <

So, in the long run, it's better to buff from a business standpoint. You're investing and building a better future for your game. Radical ideas sometimes aren't really understood, at first. xxdragonragexx
Buffing classes results in more QQ than nerfing a class to fix QQ. For example, last month they nerfed operatives. What do you think people will feel if they buff merc's tracer missiles and sorcs some more? It is better to nerf operatives. Last ops/scound pvp videos I checked, they are still doing great. Although bad players will still be bad.
Wylding
The QQing is actually a good thing. Then people would be more careful with their QQing. This is actually a good thing if they'll QQ more. They'd be less likely to try to force their crappiness on the rest of us by suggesting more unnecessary nerfs. So, my point still stands....BUFF away!

PvPers are notorious whiners in every game (we're all guilty at some point) and no matter what you [game developers] do you'll never make everyone happy. I can guarantee they'll go with option 1 every single time for good reason.

OGsam
That's ok...brilliant ideas generally aren't seen as such by the masses. Rinse and repeat replies? Don't worry boys and girls, just another person who's class got nerfed and yes, he mad.
Polimeris
I really don't get why people fear nerfs that much. Throwing random buffs everywhere instead of nerfing a very particular thing is the best way to throw the entire game out of balance. If your class is getting nerfed for the sake of balance, you should be glad. And I play a scoundrel (healer since day -4).

OGsam
It's called power creep, it's not a good thing for a mmorpg. Especially since the natural progression of MMO's is an inevitable "power creep" it's best for the longevity of the game to not aid it unnecessarily. MrDeas
Instead of nerfing classes, buff other classes up. Simple and effective. Ok haters, begin spewing your venom...you know you want to.... 2 problems with this method. First is that if it's 1 class being OP, buffing every other class means that it's 7x more work which means the fix takes 7x as long. Second, this would have drastic effects on PvE. They would then have to scale all the PvE as they buff the classes which is yet more work. The fact is that they don't simply nerf classes over buffing, it's a balancing act of nerfing/buffing to individual skills even that keeps it balanced. Not one or the other.
