How did they get this so wrong?

Anyone else get bored with this over a week?

Everyone defending this game seems to be pointing out its not a wow clone (so blatantly is...) but I knew that when I bought it. I was hoping for a little innovation aside from voice acting which you feel pressured to space bar through when grouped, and pointless dark/light side choices. Ooh spooky eyes...

Feels like bioware just threw a single player game and Warcraft into the air and then waited for the money to rain down.

I have felt that way at times over the past couple months... then I started PvPing, and now I'm happy.

I had a blast with the game for the first month and a half, and i still love it and want to see more class story lines. But lately, whenever i look at the shortcut on my desktop i stop and wonder if i really want to play it today.

For a true fan like me this isn't a good sign. Hoping the legacy system gives me some new energy for the game.

To answer your question:

1) They rushed it. A lot of the bugs and things missing boil down to the game needing more time to be put together.

2) They did not research MMOs enough. A lot of the exploits that are showing up in PvP are due to the way the game is coded. Most MMOs do not use client-side position determination specifically because speed hacks, stealth hacks, flight hacks, and other things are very common once people realize that their computer's data determines (for the most part) where the game thinks they are.

3) They ignored their players and beta testers. This is the biggest issue. A lot of the bugs were in beta for a long time and the players told them about them. They were ignored. There is an infamous interview with one of the lead developers where he actually states that beta testers opinions were unimportant and that the only thing they were there to provide was statistical data.

4) They took a game engine that was not fully developed it and then re-coded it to suit their needs instead of using an already tried and tested engine. This is another source of a lot of the bugs in the game.

To sum up: Lack of proper planning = piss poor performance. The 5 P's lol.

Amen.

And add to that a game that is so slow and zero responsive.. The DEV's say: We know that a very important part of an mmo is for the game to be super resonsive..

Apparently they have not played TERA.

So, vote with your feet and your credit card and stop paying them!!!

Personally I LOVE this game; I think it knocks the other MMO's I have played into a cocked hat.

What I do not understand is why so many people pay to play,m but then demand that the game is morphed and changed into something esle. Uf you dopn't like the current game, then don't play it and leave us millions who do love it to play and discuss the gamne in peace!

What space combat should be

No, Battlefront's space combat was utter crap (Infact battlefront series in general was a halfbaked attempt at copying the early battlefield series with reskinned models.)

If you want a good example go look at Xwing series or hell as strange as it may sound SWG's space combat was pretty damn close, ignoring the uncanon ship mechanics (such as certain ships having shield or hyperdrive capability when they should not).

Yeah sorry, thought I'd be a little more subtle but if you need me to spell it out I can assure you I've unsubbed. Also it was never millions and it won't even be million for long.

Not me. I started almost two weeks ago and still haven't finished chapter 1 on my main, let alone capped her level (she's 30 at the moment). With eight classes, each with its own storyline, I expect to be entertained for at least a couple more months.

This is worrisome. I hope they learn to listen to their customers, and fast (though they'll need to retain some spine or the whiners will ruin the game).

If you don't people like it, have the decency to quit quietly instead of cluttering the forums with more useless whine threads. Or at least post in the already existing feedback threads instead of starting new ones. Are you people that desperate for attention? Jeez.

I think the "unique storylines" is misleading. While its true your characters are going to have different conversations, the storyline experience feels a bit tired and somewhat repetitive the second time around.

I'm "cluttering" up the forums because I, like many other users who started their own threads, want biowarfare to understand we feel ripped off and mislead by their claims. It's not like I tricked you into reading this.

I've always wanted to play a jedi knight, or at least the little boy in me wants to play...

So I play a jedi knight. Each battle is the same. Leap, sweep, sunder, blade storm, master strike and so on...

I can't take it anymore...Where is the diversity and character creation?

And thats the problem with every mmo since.

Because it's economically and physically impossible to match warcraft while still trying improve technical aspects. They would have had to spent years more on the game to implement all the things they would have wanted to and, as much as it seems be a secret to people, we live in real world with limited resources.

Then there is the fact that your first MMO is always the best and for a truckload of people, WoW was their first MMO.

If you don't like the game then leave. No one is forcing you to stick around and whine day after day after day on the forums.
