Easy?

Got a Marauder to 42, slightly enjoyed it, but was tired of the lack of survivability. Now I'm considering rolling a Sniper, but I've heard they're similar in difficulty to a Marauder (Difficult as in take a ton of damage doing PvE/flashpoints, or difficult in a different way?)

 

 

Could a Sniper be easy for a careless player to level? I don't think, usually, I just go the direction the quest icon sends me, if I see a mob, I kill it and continue. I'd rather not die a ton, because as you level, repair costs get absolutely insane.

 

 

 

Sniper easy enough? I'm not asking for Sorc easy (Gah, Sorc is great in PvP from 14 and up it seems once you get sprint, but the story is boring) I've finished Act I once in my life (That's my 42 Marauder, obviously, and I was playing with a friend to 25, then he stopped, I went from 25-42)

It won't be a super cake walk considering you won't get a healer until Taris and your tank is squishy but here's my point of view as a healer.

 

In my raid group I have the most trouble with Marauders and Snipers. It could be because they suck at not standing in **** could be because medium armour in this game = cardboard

My Sniper is 50, and as long as you engage in combat on your terms, the fight should be a walk in the park.

 

Leveling as a Marksman your opening moves will take 1 mob out, guaranteed, every time.

 

Leveling as Lethality spec is a little different, but our Corrosive Grenade packs quite the punch for an AOE DOT, just chuck one go to cover and watch as mobs melt.

 

I have spec'd Engi only after level 50, so I cannot comment on that.

 

Cover is quite good for leveling, 90% of NPC attacks can be ignored by good use of the cover system. Kaliyo will die quite a bit later on, resulting in some down time between mobs. Once you get Doc Lokin on Taris and gear him decently (His default gear is horrid) everything is cake.

If you mean casual....then yes. I don't play pvp and usually don't do flashpoints or heroic missions and I'm having a blast.

 

I simply equip myself and my companion(s) with the best available swag. I've leveled a gunslinger and am now levleing a sniper. I have not had any issues with any missions with the exception of the Lightspring (Smuggler) which was recently nerfed.
