viewtifuldee
I like to play the game slightly zoomed out and at a certain angle so that I can see more at one. However, everytime I do something that causes a loading screen to appear or triggers a fade-to-black, the camera resets to the default angle/zoom. Is there an option in the Preferences menu that I"m missing? Is there anything I can do to stop this? It's slightly annoying when I have to spend time trying to get the camera back to the way that I like it. Thanks!
Yvin
Hello viewtifuldee! Unfortunately, there is no way to currently do this. However, we do know that this is a big request within the community. In last Friday's Community Q&A, Damion Schubert, Principle Lead Systems Designer answered this very question: Evilvision - Any chance of getting the ability to lock our camera angle? I probably spend 20% of my time during PvP adjusting this when I should be well.... PvP-ing. Damion Schubert: The ability to turn off smart camera is in Game Update 1.2 (this is what makes the camera swing behind you when you start to move). To keep up on the latest with what developers are saying, be sure to keep an eye on our Developer Tracker and our Community Blog! Hope that helps! dosadnik
I don't think that's what he meant. I think it's the one that when you are zoomed out as far as possible and then you get a loading screen your camera gets zoomed in to the default. To the OP there isn't anything in preferences AFAIK. It could be a bug, but i just think that it's not implemented yet.
mathisk
The "closest approximation" that I've found (to what the OP wants, I think) has been for me to adjust the maximum camera distance, in preferences. I found a distance close to where I like the camera to be when I'm playing and I made that the max distance. Then, when a loading screen or cutscene resets the camer to a closeup view, I can use my mouse's scroll wheel, scroll the camera 1 "notch" out, and the camera will automatically pan back to the max distance setting. It's not an awesome solution, but it kinda works.
