Connercan
I am lvl 37 and can't wait to get to 50. I was wondering if I can get some advice on what everyone is using for there opening Scrapper folly from stealth. Thanks for the tips.
cdzander
You should have Shoot First at your level. Use that. At 40, going the scrapper route, you should get Flechette round. That adds a dot and armor penetration to shoot first and back blast. You can apply it while stealthed.
Aetou
I like Defense Screen-Flechette-Shoot First- Back Blast-Pugnacity-Blaster Whip-Sucker Punch. At that point I may well flurry once of twice before going Dirty Kick-Flechette/Back Blast-Blaster Whip-Sucker Punch.

Thoriusx
I tend to go ....Flachette, shoot first, BW, dirty kick, back blast, then they are usually running or trying to back away fighting so I try to Vital shot, tendon blast, Alot of it depends on how much I can get off or if the Player uses their trinket...If they trinket it will change up my skill some. Plus its good to space shoot first and Back blast out some so you can make the most out of flachette round

Plus its good to space shoot first and Back blast out some so you can make the most out of flachette round Agree with this, just adding some thoughts. PvP/heavies: If you have the 100% knockdown from shootfirst then cheapshot is a good follow-up. Its hard to squeeze it anywhere other than right after shoot first or after dirty kick. Make sure you utilize sabotage charge in your rotation. It is especially useful if you have 2 pts in 'dirty escape' or 'stopping power' because this lets you use dirty kick or tendon blast as a 'gap maker'. If you are fighting a melee target than tendon blast>run 4.1+ meters, quickshot-vital shot-crouch-sab charge-charged shot. Then if you stay crouched they can't force charge you and get energy. PvE: Things change though if you are fighting standard and weak NPC groups. I found a quick way to take care of a group of NPCs right after my opener that 1-3 shots the first guy, is hopefully you are walking away with at least one upper hand, then tossing a grenade than blaster volley, then flash grenade, then crouch sabotage charge and quickshot as necessary. When there is a group of 4-5 weak/standard targets often it isn't worth taking 2-3 hits as you close distance on each ranged guy. Also these are the groups that you want to pop dodge with right before coming out of stealth if you have 'fight or flight'. If you get them all to aggro you then their blaster/saber spam will rejuvenate your energy stalling your need for pugnacity.

Can't cheap shot players. Players are regarded as elites. Cheap shot doesn't effect elites.
Chaymus
My opener folly includes: using backblast instead of shoot first, forgetting to apply flechette, using flash when I should have used tranq, not applying my crit buff after death. On a number of occasions I get positional issues but I'm less inclined to think this is my folly as much as network coding.
Drewhat
Can't cheap shot players. Players are regarded as elites. Cheap shot doesn't effect elites. I thought I've been having issues. So torhead is wrong? What does it mean then by standard and 'heavy' targets then?
Chaymus
mobs with no flourish around their target portrait or grey trim with * flourish are normal & strong(heavy). Mobs with gold trim and flourish are elites, players are also classified as gold-elites. As a rule of thumb I can comfortably take on 2 grey strongs, or 4 normals. A gold elite I try to CC and address with just me and a companion. Edited March 5, 2012 by Chaymus
TyrantOfNordberg
I thought I've been having issues. So torhead is wrong? What does it mean then by standard and 'heavy' targets then? This is from Torhead Cheap Shot Instant Range: 4 m Deals a cheap shot to a vulnerable target, dealing 2197 - 2259 kinetic damage to weak and standard targets, and 1557 - 1619 kinetic damage to strong targets. Only usable on incapacitated targets. mobs have different strengths. Weak-Standard-Strong-Elite-Champion. Cheap Shot only works on the weak, standard, Strong targets with it doing less damage on strong targets. Players are regarded as elites and as such cheap shot won't work on players. Zyller
Seems that most people refering to "trinket" means the cc breaker some old WoW talk
FoxNemhauser
I see, brings back memories when I was told to "sap" something and I was like "W.T.F. do you want from me?" People from RIFT used that a lot, but occasionally someone in LotrO would say it as well. Funny thing was that most of them did not know why they were using that word instead of generic "sleep" / "incapacitate" or the name of the skill. Neither did I until I just googled it and found out that WoW (which i never played and i'm proud of that) has a skill named "Sap" that "Incapacitates the target for up to X sec. Must be stealthed.". Ughhh... Edited March 7, 2012 by FoxNemhauser
