Daekarus Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 So, I've been doing my dailies (why do people whine about them?) and there is a this Heroic 2+ daily mission that is very conveniently placed. I usually play at very odd times though, and often I can't find anybody to run it with. I'm hoping to be able to solo it... I'm a shield spec Vanguard, and my gear is all orange except for my belt. Armor is all lvl 51 purple from commendations, and mods/enhancements are level 50 purple. I'm more concerned about my companion, though... if I get Elara Dorne geared up with crit/surge/power gear, do you think I'll be able to solo the mission? Has anybody managed it?
Dragonbgone Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 You will not be able to solo it with that gear. Our MT has the same problem. He uses a dps companion for the sets of mobs then a healing companion for the 2 bosses. He's in 9 pieces of rakata though. You don't need to be that geared, but shouldn't be able to with anything less than full columi.
Matteis Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 (edited) I have done it with Kira before on my own. I'm a Guardian tank in full Columi, Columi offhand, Rakata implants/ear, kick *** relics and I'm a BioChem. Combine all that with Call on the Force and it can be done. The bosses are extremely challenging though and I've done them by kiting and taunting and Kira just chipping them away. Edited March 3, 2012 by Matteis
Daekarus Posted March 3, 2012 Author Posted March 3, 2012 Sounds like I need to find a guild to play Flashpoints and Operations with that will be tolerant of my erratic schedule... I cannot WAIT to just be working one job and taking no classes. It will be like a permanent vacation...

Zaragosa Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Just a little confused, which bosses are there in this heroic? On Jedi Shadow I solo it very easily with both Nadia and/or Theran. I have done it with Zenith with a bit of difficulty, mostly due to him having very sucky gear. With Nadia we just burn down the first group, heal up, burn the second group, heal up... the gold elite by himself I stealth - stun hit the container and head to the next group... etc. With Theran I do the same just takes a little longer to kill each group, but no need to heal up after each. When I first started doing this heroic I would stealth - stun the gold in each group and take out the two white elites - all while avoid using any aoe, and with Theran healing. Gear was all orange save for normal slots, which were a mixture of blues and greens. Now I have Rakata ear, implats, purple mods in all my orange and weapon (except for crystal which is a blue). Oh and my Shadow is tank specced. I'll be interested in seeing how things go with my Seer sage, and Commando once they hit 50. Seer will have good gear immediatly as my Shadow has collected all the mods for the Sage, so it'll be ready to roll.
JeyKama Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 Vanguards can solo it fine in sub-Tionese gear, as long as it's blue 50s and your weapon is up to date - the OP in question is fine. Make sure Elara's carbonite spray is turned off, burn down a silver as fast as you can, pop CDs and CC the gold elite if necessary, kill the other silver, then just whittle down the gold. If you're in trouble at any point you can just run out of the phase - whatever you killed in the groups stays dead and the rest de-aggro. You can also just reset the phases if the boss elites prove too difficult - this doesn't reset your quest counters, so you can just farm the first two groups a few times (and yoinking the weapon crate next to the boss guy) if you wanted.
DarthKrader Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 I have 2 lvl 50's, a trooper (commando) and a jedi sentinel and 80% of the time i solo'd all the heroics for the dailys. This was mostly down to the low republic population on our realm in general, and especialy in belsavis/ilum. Thankfully i have long past achieved all my rekata ears/implants on both chars, so no longer bother with the dailys at all. A couple of tips, dont scrimp on buying gear for your healer companions etc, it can make a world of difference if you neglect them gear wise. Mod your own gear as best you can, money shouldnt be a factor as you can make over 200k per day, per char easy just doing the dailys.
Prossy Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 I solo A Lession is Learned and Darkness on Ilum easily on my shadow tank but that's mostly because i'm in Columi/Rakata Gear, buut in the gear you have you wont get pass the first champion because it will kill ya too fast so will need someone to help ya until you get better gear The heroic group dailies on Belsavis is really easy to do it just alot of people are too lazy to get a group to do them
Ainianu Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 I have solo'd this with all 3 of my level 50 characters as soon as they reached 50. With Sage i use Nadia as companion (healer sage) Guardian and Sentinel both with Doc companion... (Guardian can use Kira just fine for this later in better gear) It is pretty easy i imagine anyone can solo it. All 3 of my characters had decent gear at fresh 50 but it still was less than daily quality obviously. Guardian i found did this easiest as a fresh 50, so as a Vanguard you shouldnt have a problem. Sentinel i found the mid-way boss very difficult and i had to 'gimp' it and just complete it without killing that boss (smashing box and respawning past him) but with a bit more gear it gets easy enough for Sent too. Sage i still find most difficult on that same mid-way boss as the companion doesnt take hits too well but its still a win. In short: its easy really and it doesnt hurt to just try it for yourself to find out if you can do it The heroic 2+ Darkness on Ilum is much more difficult though.
