Auto-Loot Pet

I'm probably going to get flamed for this post by other players...

...but can I pay you BioWare/EA/LucasArts devs for an in-game pet that auto-loots? I would be willing to shell-out real life money for that convenience. I have a job, and I work hard, and I would like to exchange my real life work for some in-game entertainment convenience/luxury. Either offer it to just me, personally, or you can offer it playerbase-wide; I really don't care. I know we have AoE/area looting by way of a Preferences option, but I'm just looking to go all the way...with some sort of mechanism that will loot for me instead. Here are a couple of suggestions: You may slow-down the rate of looting with the auto-loot pet or other mechanism...such as placing a single "corpse-looting" into a queue that releases the loot into my inventory slowly over time; or you could make the auto-loot pet or other mechanism available only after some long and/or difficult/challenging mission chain and/or raiding (similar to a datacron? or hard mode flashpoint?). I'd prefer to just give you $$, though.

please please please please

Thank you,

A Happily Paying SW:TOR Founder/Subscriber

Holy **** please add something like this. I can't believe SWTOR is using this antiquated click on dead body to loot design. A lot of console games have gotten rid of this. I know games like Diablo 3 are using it, but they have a forced camera perspective that makes it easy to loot. SWTOR sure as hell does not. PC games don't need this anymore. Who the hell wants this?

Or hell, why don't they just add in an option in the Preferences to auto pickup all of the loot in the *********** game without having to click on anything! Please! Or maybe just make our companions loot without having to click. Something, anything. My carpel-tunnel is gonna get worse because of this game. /endrant

Can I get some dev response on why this couldn't be implemented, hypothetically/theoretically (if applicable)?

If this could be implemented, how much would BioWare/EA/LucasArts ask for? $50? $200?

Would BioWare/EA/LucasArts accept a coded game mod or addon that would somehow automate looting?

You really think a developer is going to come in here and respond? You will have better luck asking this in the Q&A thread as to getting an answer.

I dont really want another thing on screen following me around to loot, lets just make it so the companions can autoloot.

I actually asked a simpler version of this question using /bug in-game, and one of the customer support/service reps gave me the URL to this exact forum. S/he said that even though devs may not respond, they do read the forum.

Whatever works and gets the job done. I just want automated looting...in whatever form it materializes in. I'm just willing to throw some money in to get the ball rolling.

I agree with the auto loot pet idea, I've had that thought many times, wondering why my companion isn't helping me loot everything.

While we are talking about loot, how about removing all the gray vendor trash items from the game - what's the purpose of them other than cluttering up our inventories, just give us credits instead. Or if you continue to want us pick up all the trash, at least consider some improvements - give us a trash bag, this way we can look in there and marvel at all the wonderful trash we collected, and make the trash items funny (funny names or notes on them), and have them be worth a lot - so we'll feel lucky to have found it.

I do not know the trash on Illum is worth alot. I sold an entire inventory full of trash from a week of dailies neted me 117765 credits from selling trash items. Seems they are worth enough allready. But the idea about a trashbag and funny names....Definately +1 this

That just means your companion would be in your way even more than they already are. Why not just have a "I'm standing next to something dead so the loot goes into my bag" system.

Would be awesome.

...similar to Diablo III (and other games) where you walk near a red life/health orb, and it automatically "applies" itself to you if your character needs it without needing you to click on it.

Read title, Nope. It was a decent idea in Maplestory but since loot is shared if in a group, there will always be people complaining.

Why doesn't the loot roll just automatically pop-up after the death of an enemy NPC? Why does a group have to wait until someone clicks to loot a corpse before the loot roll pops up?

Really...is it so hard just to click?...

No, it obviously isn't hard to just click...seeing as how I've been doing it for ten years playing MMORPG's...but what if I paid $$ for an auto-loot pet? How much would it cost, and would BioWare even be agreeable to that?

That is the question.
