Space Combat Difficulty

Please add difficulty options to the space combat: Normal/Hard/Nightmare

Holy *********** **** it gets too hard. I'm a casual player and I'm currently level 46. I just bought ALL of the level 5 upgrades for my ship. Go to play the green space mission where you have to kill 60 enemy ships in an asteroid field and just got my *** completely handed to me.

A little background. I played all of the space missions up until around level 38ish, usually having a fairly easy time, but with each new subsequent mission, getting almost too hard. Then I hit that wall around level 38 where the missions became impossible. So I waited. Forgot about space combat completely until just today (2/28/12) where I hit level 46 and bought all of the upgrades, expecting to make the missions, especially the green ones, essentially "easy". *********** hell no.

So again, I have stopped playing space missions.

Could we please have a difficulty selection for Space Combat? I don't care if I only get 1 commendation per mission. Or even none if an easy mode would be too exploitable. Just some gold for the effort. I just want to be able to play them and have an enjoyable experience. Not get my *** *********** handed to me every *********** time.

Hard mode could be the current version, then maybe add a Nightmare for the super hardcore people who I assume think Space Combat is currently way too easy.

Thank you. (I couldn't find another post on this topic after doing a quick search. So please link to a thread I could add this too if it's there)

Same level here. I immediately stopped playing Space Combat. If I survive, I don't get all my objectives. If I get all my objectives, I don't survive. It's not worth it for me to sit there and try and beat these right now.

this is an l2p issue i have seen a ton of people who need to l2p in space combat...

to be fair i had issues learning some things too because of how bad explanations were and how embarrassingly bad things like the darth hater intro to space combat.

first you probably need the commendations gear for your ship so you can use the 1-5 gear most important is the converter so when you press 1 you add extra power to your blasters and when you press 2 you regen shields very quickly

the mines die to emp blast really well also

apart from learning to fire those abilities off at the right time you also need to use a WASD cycle so your ship dodges incoming fire all the time even while killing things....(a basic circle is all you really need for dodging crap atm)

also because i saw a post about proton torps that annoyed the crap out of me i'll point out that it only looks like you get 3 torps because 1 is already in the tubes ready to go.

Thanks for the advice.

Yeah I put the background info to let people know that I had learned quite a bit about how to play space combat, though I did forget to say that I do use the converter. The problem is there was no time to switch between. Sure, I could do the mission a dozen times, dying every time to learn exactly where to use it, but to me, that is not fun.

Also thanks for reminding me about the other "advanced" control techniques. And if I am forced to have to use those, then that too does not equal fun for me.

Like I said, I'm casual. I love the visuals of space combat. I'm willing to buy my way to get better, but not willing or just plain don't have the reflexes anymore to do the crazy stuff.
