My Goodbye Letter

Greetings. i have been playing Swtor since just a week after release and i have loved almost every aspect of the game and i would like to take a moment to talk about the good & great things i have experienced aswell as some of the not so great experiences.

Space Missions, i absolutely LOVED these i dont care what people said about it "been on a train track" or "kids stabalisers" i loved those space missions and you did a damn good job creating em 5/5 score for that!.

Your Own Storyline, this i also LOVED the personal cinematics the way your character could be the kind gentle soul, or the heartless killer or as i played it a bit of both :).

Companions, this has to be one of the greatest MMO attributes i have ever seen. your own humanoid companions with thoughts feelings and its own-free-will (in some cases) you could almost have a false sense of friendship with your companion.. i know i did with Vette :) loved her witty remarks and wild personality.

The Graphics, pretty much seccond to NONE the graphics of this game were insanely high quality (yes my computer handled it at max settings).

The PvP, i loved the pvp especialy reaching "You Are Immortal" for the first time while i was lvl34 against all the 50's it felt GREAT and i love it because it inspires you to play better to get the higher ranks hehe.

The PvE, unlike wow the pve in this game actualy had a challenge to it witch i enjoyed. my first Athiss run i wiped about 27 times on last boss with some new players. we never gave up we killed boss and weve been friends ever since :D.

and now i must also express the bad times i have experienced..

Crashing to Desktop, alltho not a major thing it was really quite annoying to be almost done with a cinematic or story area and then to have to log-in all over again i know you are trying to fix this and i wish you all the best of luck on that.

Blue Screening, a more serious error that would occur around 2-3 hours into my gameplay i did all the trouble-shooting dxdiags different configurations defrags reinstalling drivers the lot and it was still happening i know you acknowledge that this is happening and that you are desperately trying to fix it so you cannot post on forums and reply to the scared people who are experiencing it. my suggestion to you would be to hire somebody to just re-assure the public and respond to the threads people make just to calm people down.

Poor FPS, yes even with my computer system (witch is a total beast) i would experience lag if i opened up my invetory / character sheet / quest log or anything like that. also receiving fps drops while in Battle for Alderaan & Huttball or when a player would log-in nearby

you realy do need to take the game off the shelf for a few weeks and rebuild the game from scratch using more up-to-date systems (dont worry about people with old computer systems. they want to replace em..just need motivation ;) )

also in the near future i would like to see some same-sex romance options because if you allow any romance options you must also allow same-sex romances or it could be seen as discrimination (i do not see it that way but some player i have spoken to do).

i know you are working your socks off to fix the issues and bring new content to our ever-ravenous appetites for pixels:D and i know that some day soon you will of corrected all the issues and your game will be perfect..then i will be back ready to experience the awesomeness that is SWTOR.

anyway i bid you farewell and hope to see you again in the not-to-distant future

this is berronax signing off:sul_grin:

Duh if you are experiencing a BSOD its certainly NOT the fault of the game.

BSOD's are the result of some faulty hardware that you own. Either your system is running too hot or there is some piece of hardware that is not working correctly. You should have paid attention to the error message that accompanies the BSOD. (You can have your system to NOT reboot when BSOD hits, so you can write down the error)

Sounds like your "total beast" of a pc, isn't such a beast. I have a crap toshiba laptop and don't run into those issues.. My fps drops every now and then, but i've never had a blue screen or a crash to desktop or anything like that. Sounds like a computer/hardware issue. Edited by RivinHal

Stop blaming our machines. Both me and my friend runs skyrim on ultra on 60 FPS same with BF3, but not SWTOR. Engine or us? Lol, ridicilous.

Of course its his machine. Either his system needs a cleaning, a piece of hardware is faulty or there is some driver incompatibility. I have a good machine and the game runs just fine.

The OP never even posted his system specs or the BSOD error.

On dear. It appears the "nobody cares" brigade are out in force and quite honestly I would regard your comments as more unwelcome than the "I am leaving" post that started this thread.

Nobody cares? Someone should! Okay, perhaps not an individual leaving the game. It's a game and I'm sure the Microsoft website isn't full of "I'm quitting Freecell" posts. But here's someone who's passionate enough about the game to leave feedback to the developers rather than just wander off. Forum history 101: Reasonable/happy people don't frequent the forums, reasonable/happy people are too busy playing the game.

2 pages of "we won't miss you", "bye", "you're obviously lying about your computer's power" and "can I have your stuff". How is ANY of that a positive contribution to either the swtor game or community?

Let's let the guy have his opinion. Let him express it in a way he hopes will eventually influence the game in some small ways. Let Bioware read this feedback and make a judgement call as to whether the criticisms are fair or not. But let's not jump all over the guy because you don't want to read his post.

I'm reasonably happy but at work so I popped on the forums.

Isn't there a form you fill in when quitting to give reasons why etc?

This.

It often astonishes me how many people forget that this forum is for communication and suggestions to BioWare and that people posting here are not necessarily interested in defending themselves, justifying their position, and generally have no real concern on whether or not everyone else agrees with them or not.

The second thing that amuses me is that it seems people often mistake a post here as "speaking for them" unless they post to say it doesn't. I never assume to speak for anyone but myself, but apparently, this is a rare thing. =/

Best wishes to the OP; may the Force be with you!
