+ crit chance..

How much of a difference does the + crit chance on the different companions make?

Foe example.. If I was torn between playing bounty hunter or trooper and the only thing that will make a difference is the companions skills. One of the trooper companions has +5 crit chance to armormech and the BH does not.

How much of a factor would that be if I was planning going armormech?

Would I see a plethora more crits on the amor pieces if I went Trooper?

Sadly no.

Although I have not maxed Tanno Viks affection completely it might help. Crits are very few and far between. That couple with the fact he is the second to last companion you get doesnt help. He is indifferent to all your choices in game so his affection only goes up through gifts and his questline. What makes it even worse, is that he is also the Underworld guy. So you have to choose to send him to craft, or get the mats you need to craft.

No idea what the exact numbers break down to.

No study has been done, that I am aware of, where two companions with equal affection have been tasked to make thousands of an item by multiple players and crits were counted and compared to come up with any number that is remotely reliable.

But my opinion is that choosing a class based upon whether a companion will get more critical hits in a certain crafting skill is a terrible idea.

Choose a class to play based upon looks, play style, or faction, but choosing a class based upon some minute crafting crit advantage is a terrible way to pick a class.

If the character is only for crafting, then it doesn't really matter if it is only a .00001% chance.

If you aren't going to play the character and only use them for crafting, then all that matters is that they have an advantage, however small.

Base chance of 5%

Additional 5% at max affection

Crew skill bonuses add additional percentage (1-5%)
