Uruare
It occurs to me that there's a lot of room just begging to be filled with environment that isn't static as well as atmosphere service that doubles as functional. To that end, I suggest dynamic NPC vendors that roam stations and planets periodically (that cannot always be found/aren't always around) with inventories that are both fairly unique to the NPC as well as varied substantially enough that anyone of any level could very well find something they'd have both potential interest and improvement-based desire to buy. Additionally, I suggest that some such NPC's should be smugglers that, like the GMT, can have gear and equipment put on them by players for certain fees, and that these NPC's should roam across faction boundaries periodically. For such smuggler NPC's, I think increased functionality of their services, such as ability to contact them remotely and list/retrieve gear as well as gain discounts on listing fees, should be tied to quests related to them as realized non-player characters with backgrounds and personalities of their own. Moreover, I suggest that some such NPC's should be reflected as various 'adventurer groups' of NPC's that occasionally park themselves someplace and sell the stuff that they don't need/have crafted to sell. Their prices should be high and their saleables, good to top quality. All roaming, intermittant NPC vendors should, in my envisioning of these suggestions, occasionally have limited-availability things for sale. Those things could literally be anything and their relative rarity could be anything from uncommonly available to literally unique.
