Jibbie
Hey everyone. I am so conflicted between these two classes, in regards to which one I should level as my second character. I am only focused on PvP, and my main is a level 50 Jugg in full champ gear. What I like so much about my Juggernaut is that he requires constant button pressing and is very engaging; I"m always throwing out a taunt or force charging or force pushing, and so I always feel like I'm having an affect on the battle. It is this fun and engaging feeling I am looking for in an alt, and it looks like both the Operative and the Sniper has this quality. If anyone could help me decided, I would greatly appreciate it. Wehs
Depends if you want more survivability or wanna put out more damage. Operative's gonna stay up longer with the heals, and if you go into Lethality (maybe hybrid?) spec you'll also deal quite a bit of damage with the dots. However, I play a Sniper, and in pvp we can put out a ******** of damage so long as we don't get caught. With only a short damage-absorb and 3-second 100% absorb, our main ways of getting away are cc's, which isn't the most reliable. With Sniper you're gonna do a lot of button-mashing to get skills off and spreading dots, but Operative seems to work out just as well with the additional heals you get. From a Sniper's perspective, I'd go Operative.
Dasamukha
From a sniper point of view only. (I have not leveled an operative), I find the sniper experience is the polar opposite of a Jug. Instead of visceral always in the middle of the action, the sniper seeks to never be the focus of attention, and wants to be left alone with plenty of targets at 25-30 meters and good lines of sight. The sniper is much more tactical. For example, in Huttball, the Jug does not care who has the ball or where the ball carrier is located. If he's not already swinging away, they are a jump away from doing so. I am sure the experience intensifies with force choke and other cool moves of that nature. The sniper thinks, ok, can I get on the low acid bar and fire up the group. I want to shoot from the back. I don't want them to see the big crit coming. I want them to panic. The sniper anticipates the side they usually take, leg shot or stun in the fire, line up on the healer, take out the receiver of a pass, snipe the ball carrier if he is stopped. Break up the group with an orbital strike. Watch your flanks for the stealther, or a BM with a tactical missile spam. Drop into the pit to cover the sides. Get to the raffters to affect the floor. Sniper is a thinking man's class. Each situation is different, and each game is different. The list goes on and on, but does not include, jumping down in the middle of the group to shoot. j-cart
Go for Sniper if you want to be the spike DPS dealer. Might not be super exciting that you have to go to crouch stance a lot, but seeing people running away only to blasted by your rifle is always rewarding. Jibbie
I'm going with Sniper. Thanks for the feedback everyone. I've watched this video maybe 9 or 10 times, and every time I go, "I want to do that!" So sniper it is haha. Thanks,
