lullylew
Ok bioware I have an idea. Hopefully it's something you and the community like. Anyway, I'm pretty bad at explaining things so I'll be using some examples, please bare with me. ( I have no idea if any game has already done this so please forgive my ignorance if they have) Right now for PvP, you scale lower levels up to 49 etc right? So I had an idea. Imagine if for example - I'm level 50, I want to help my lower level friend but I don't want to leech all his/her xp from kills and whatnot. So, the idea is that a higher level character can join a lowbie and have his stats etc scaled DOWN to his level for the duration you are helping him out so you do not leech his/her xp. The lvl 50 could be allowed to aquire the legacy xp from kills as if he was actually lvl 11 killing those mobs. Giving people an incentive to actually do this. Not only that but it will help people feel more comfortable making Alts, or getting friends into the game knowing that their high level friends can actually help them out, without any negative impact on the lower levels experience gain. So it would work something like this:- 1. Invited to group, window pops up saying "you are joining a group with a lower level character, do you wish to scale stats?" Yes, or now. 2. stats get scaled while you are in the party. Your friend still gets good xp for you helping him out. 3. Once you have left the group, your stats get put back to lvl 50 after say 5 minutes of being out of combat or hanging around in friendly area. Now I know there are flaws, for example a party could be made up of 3 level 50s and a lvl 11. All disguised as lvl 11, they go to a world pvp area then suddenly oh look we're actually lvl 50 trollololol. With things like this in mind you can give it a similar mechanic as flagging for pvp. Required to be in a friendly area or whatnot for 5 minutes before resetting to lvl 50. Or the opposite factions still see them as lvl 50 but with a number next the level in brackets showing their current scaled level. Anyway, I really hope someone on the dev team has a look at this and of course feedback from the community in the form of constructive criticism, ideas and the like is always welcome. Have fun all! Ty for checking the idea out.
Drewser
CoH did this well so you could help other players at different levels. You could scale up or down depending who created the team.
SnapWolf
I imagine something akin to a Master-Apprentice system of sort. Edited February 28, 2012 by SnapWolf
lullylew
Awesome I got a reply . I didn't know CoH did this already. I think it would be a good idea. I have no idea how difficult it would be to impliment. But I would certainly be more inclined to help out lower levels with this in action, knowing that they will benefit from it instead of having their leveling progression gimped. MoFugga
This is also how Guild Wars 2 is going to be. To me I see it with pros and cons.
