Daredevilase
i think the developers should increase the max level you can get on a character what do you think?
Lurkz
This is the wrong forum. Try the Suggestion Box in the General Discussion Forum. Also, this likely wouldn't happen until the first full expansion anyway.
ReiKai
Agreed. It's something that's already planned for expansions so it's not even worth discussing.
MilesTeg_cy
So, you've reached 50, right?
FalcoLombardi
Why would you ever raise the level cap? It's absolutely pointless
Ziso
It will happen when nex expansions/planets are out. Happens like this in Lotro and did in SWG. Be a new expanion this year with a new world im sure and a level increase of 10 and the new planet alone will be for level 50-60's
psandak
Why would you ever raise the level cap? It's absolutely pointless EVERY MMO developer and 99% of players disagree. From a developer perspective: more levels keeps players playing - it's one of several a carrots on a stick. From a player perspective: more levels means more/better abilities, (typically) new content, and better equipment; again keeps players interested and wanting to play. MMOs do not have an ending where one can "beat the game". Without increasing the level cap every now and again all those "carrots" go away. That being said, it is WAY too early to even consider a level cap increase. The current content is designed to get you to level 50. You will have to wait for the first expansion to get a new level cap. Edited February 28, 2012 by psandak

Keep the level the same, add more level 50 class quests if you want that. More levels means more abilities? Just make the new abilities purchaseable. New content? More level 50 content Guild Wars has been very successful with keeping the max level at 20. And Guild Wars 2 will stay at 80. 80 may seem like alot comparatively but once you hit a certain level instead of the XP going ^ for each level it stays about the same

FFXI went 7 years without raising the level cap all while adding new content and gear without completely making older content obsolete. This was great because all end game was viable and there was always something to do as content was constantly being added and there was also a merit system to customize your character more for continued progression even at cap. They eventually added a level cap with the abyssea expansion (why I don't know) and it effectively killed the game. Personally I think there are better ways to add content and ways to progress your character without raising the level cap and essentially killing all previous content as well as making all old gear completely obsolete. I know that's the trend and some people like constantly grinding but it would be nice to see something different.

FalcoLombardi
Well thats just like, your opinion.....man..... Also, adding more levels makes it more a grind for people who just join the game. And grind = bad
Wolfninjajedi
Also, adding more levels makes it more a grind for people who just join the game. And grind = bad Especially if you start a new character! Though wouldn't really bother me, cause by that time there would be more class story's so it wouldn't end with the interlude like it does now. Dantharghan
Increasing the max level trivializes current content to the point where no one plays it anymore. New players/chars bypass it completely with solo quests on their way to max level. As a result the game would need to offer about the same amount of end game content after the level cap increase compared to what is available now. Which is impossible to create every 5-6 months with the resources BW has at its disposal. Keeping the same level cap and offering new content which is challenging but does not require a level cap increase keeps the current end game and all future additions to it open for players to progress in. Otherwise you have a huge game but only a very small amount of available content is actually experienced by the players because who wants to raid/play "old" flashpoints and operations ?
