Nostric
Are you referring to Resolve? If so, you get a bar above your head and each time a CC (crowd control) is used on you it goes up. Once it fills the bar will turn white and CC cannot be used again. However, this doesn't include things such as slow, just spells that stun you. swtonewbie
diminishing returns is the point at which the stat you see on a piece of gear starts giving you fewer percentage points. Like say on a piece of get you see strength, endurance and crit. Now that crit does not directly translate to the percentage. I dont know the exact conversion ratio, but i'll throw one out as an example. Lets say for example 20 crit rating as seen on a piece of gear equals 1% crit. If one peice of gear has 60 crit rating that means it has 3% crit. The diminishing return for crit % starts at 30% i think. So that meants once you reach that point, then 20 crit rating is no longer worth 1% crit, instead it is worth maybe 0.90%. If you add another 20 crit rating again, then you only gain 0.80% and so on. So as an example you are sitting right at the soft cap for crit, 30% you get a piece of gear that adds 20 crit rating, you are now at 30.90% (30 + 0.90) you get more gear that adds another 20 crit rating, you are at 31.70% (30.90 + 0.80) you get more gear that adds another 20 crit rating, you are at 32.40% (31.70 + 0.70) NOW KEEP IN MIND THESE ARE NOT EXACT NUMBERS. But that should give you an idea of how diminishing returns works.
Randomness
The core stats (Strength, End, etc.) scale linearly and have no diminishing returns. Secondary stats like crit, surge, etc. do have diminishing returns, immediately (Every point is worth less than the point before it). As to when they become significant enough to care about... I don't have a graph.
