pvp has become a joke

i have to say i do like pvp but it has become a bit of a joke.i play a powertech which has a shield that reduces damage by 25%,so why do other class have a bubble which absorb all damage.i mean come on play fair.i have seen 1 player just stand at our end with 5 players trying to kill him with no damage to him what so ever.a bit of class leveling for pvp would be nice.maybe make the bubble the same as mine for pvp only ie only reduces damage by 25% and if you pass a trap zero reduction.just hope it get sorted soner so we can all enjoy pvp...

Because those classes have medium armor. You have heavy armor. You can take a substantially harder beating and still live.

You could be a sniper and get 3 second shield which reduces 100% of damage from other snipers (least played class almost never seen) and anyone using basic attack (nobody). So very close to worthless. I'd take 25% flat any day. Edited by Crankyhobo

Hey, we get one of those. ... We just have to be sitting still, it lasts for 20 seconds flat, reduces all incoming damage by 20%, and has a 3 minute cooldown.

 

Oh, I guess that's the same thing as useless, huh. Woops!

As a PT I must recommend that you use your shield sooner than later. I will agree that watching some of the other classes take very little damage with their "shields" leaves me envious at times but I also know that with the shield used early and combo'd with kolto overload it can keep you alive for a significant amount of time.

 

I believe the main skill you are talking about is Undying Rage. What this skill does is takes 50% of your current health and gives you 99% damage reduction for 5 seconds. 5 seconds seems like a long time but dart him for 4 seconds and then rail shot to face.

The PT's shield lasts for 12 seconds therefore making it pretty amazing when used at high health right before getting focused by several people.

You forgot our probe shield that blocks an amazing what, 1.5k damage?

As a mirror to your class, believe me when I say its totally worth it. If your having trouble in pvp as a ranged tank(i think thats what you implied) it gets much better later on in terms of survivability. But in the meantime, taunt enemies and guard allies as much as possible to gain your medals, you can easily get 6-9 medals every match if you keep switching your guard to whoever is getting hammered and taunting whoever is hammering others.

 

And back to the shield thing, get yourself a shield boosting relic, a power boosting relic, your self-heal(mine is called adrenaline rush, im assuming powertech gets something similiar) which heals a certain percentage of hp over time, and a healing stim, now put all of those abilities on a bar side by side, activate all of them once your health drops low, or early on to last a little longer and gain more protection/damage points before dying.

Wow guys, OP is talking about static shield and the counslor version.

You are comparing apples to oranges. Healers can place a bubble on anyone including you to absorb an amount of dmg.

 

 

 

No other class has a shield ability though they do have cooldowns.

 

ie)

Assassins have a +50% defense ranged and melee for 12 seconds. My tankasin has a base 27.8 defense + 50 = 77.8. I get hit VERY rarely when this is up. Seems better compared to yours right? That because I did not mention that it does not avoid ANY force or Tech damage period, yours does.

The problem isnt witht he power tech shield, its your spec failing. My vanguard rolls 28 assault 13 tactics, my shield is on a one min cool down and my heal is on a 2 min cooldown. Assault > tactics or whatever the BH version is.

So 5 of your players were unable to do ~3000 damage....
