maxilo
so i que for pvp and click accept and it's a game of hutball that is already underway. So i run up the tunnel and get to the enterance ready to play and its blocked. Ok so i wait for the wall to go down. Next thing i Know i have been kicked out of the game for being idle ? How am i being idle when the dang game wont let me in ? Then to add insult to injury i find myself transported to fleet !!! So not only did i not get to pvp, I now have to go and do the stupid space station and orbital station rubbish just to get back to the planet where i started from Is this a one off, or shall i not bother doing any more pvp ? TyHeaton
This is one of my few complaints with the game. Grace period before a kick needs to be extended for people first loading in, as load times for Huttball and Civil War tend to be annoying long. So not only did i not get to pvp, I now have to go and do the stupid space station and orbital station rubbish just to get back to the planet where i started from Is this a one off, or shall i not bother doing any more pvp ? This is not a bug. This is feature. I use it all the time to get free fleet pass. If you extend that time this could be a problem. Right now if I use that 18h pass: ~ I join Warzone, I wait for 1,5m + 60s and I'm in the fleet in 2,5m. Much faster than going on foot, travel and watch all those stupid loading screens. ~ I join in warzone because someone quit. Stay idle for 60s and I'm in the fleet in 60s! If I couldn't do that I would be forced to: ~ go on speeder to spaceport (sometimes even few minutes) ~ move on foot in spaceport ~ enter shuttle (loading screen) ~ then run on some orbital station again on foot ~ then go to some tunel and run ~ then enter ship (loading screen) ~ run to the cocpit ~ select planet ~ run back to exit ~ enter fleet And that take loot of time. So please don't extend that time because this would make me wait longer I don't use online apps so I could get that fleet pass from vendor because people that change telephone can't move that apps to another one and it take Bioware DAYS to autorize your new phone. And hours waiting on the phone. So because lame security apps that is used only by people who don't know what they do and 18h fleet pass I DEMAND that I can be kicked out after 30s being idle after WZ start. PS: You can be idle for 60s while forcefield reset every 45s. You must be very very unlucky to be kicked out. Just press "W" at the end of loading screen and rush to that forcefield. maxilo
well at least i now know a way of getting to fleet quick. Even if it's really an exploit The point i'm making is that no way should anyone actually wanting to pvp , be kicked because of poor game mechanics ? I understand the need for a timer as people were farming. Like i said, if this is a one off then ok, i am unlucky. I was just curious if this has happened to anyone else ? Well I once wait for WZ for about hour. After it start... half of my team quit. I send PW to one with easy name asked what happened (4 people drop after WZ start ? :|) and he said "me and my party are going to fleet to get that PVP quest reward and buy some gear in AH". This is how I learn that WZ == FREE FLEET PASS every 2,5m. Simple as that. I visit fleet and I take daily PVP quests. Then I go to planets so I can lvl up a little. Then I do some WZ. When I finish my PVP quest and I'm at the end of my playing session (1-2 hours mostly) I join WZ, wait and quit. Then quick run to PVP npc, get what I want and stop playing. Simple as that. It's not an exploit. It's simple mechanic.

You had "mini-suits" in SWG for years, not a feature, but an unintended flaw in the gamedesign and thus an exploit (everyone used it though) Porting you to the fleet when you're flagged inactive in a WZ is quite possibly a flaw in the gamecode and using that flaw knowingly is... Yes. An exploit. It doesn't affect anyone negatively (except of course the people you end up with in the WZ, they will have to play w/o a full team JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE A LAZY AND SELFCENTERED) (angry personal insults is the norm on these forums, so I'll be howling with the wolves) BTW, to the OP, I've been kicked in Huttball twice due to the timing of joining. The idle/kick timer should be prolonged about 30 secs for any new arrivals into a WZ after it starts.

I noticed that some people have longer loading screen and that "idle timer" start before you are droped in WZ. I was NEVER kicked from Hutball even when force field closed just before my nose. You run less than 15s from start to forcefield and you should have more than 45s to get out. Sometimes people use elevator or enter some area BEFORE I do but I still can move on the other side before they do. Anyway - it's not an exploit. It was designed this way. ~ Bioware decide that once you leave WZ you are back to your current location ~ Bioware decide that kicked players are drop in fleet. It was their decision since they could leave same mechanic for quiters and for those who end WZ ~ Bioware decide that fleet pass have 18 HOURS cooldown ~ Bioware decide not to put fleet pass to standard vendors ~ Bioware make traveling pain in the *** ~ Bioware make so many instances in this game that you must travel all the time I really don't care about other players in this game most of the time. Really. It's first MMO when I feel that way. Why ? Because I don't even see them most of my time. Game: ~ split us every 3-4 lvl per planet ~ split us every 1 lvl per area on planet ~ split us every 1-4 people per quest (instances) Even in WZ I was playing as part of a team for whole time until I realized that there is no point. I prefer to throw ball to enemy and kill him for more points, exp, credits, valor than score a point and gain nothing (not even objective points !!!). Glad GW2 is just around the corner. Sometimes people use elevator or enter some area BEFORE I do but I still can move on the other side before they do. 99.9% of the time I have no problem joining in on huttball after being a late arrival. The OP asked if he was the only one who tried to get the kick before actually getting a chance to get into the field. I just told him I had tried it too. Nuff said. Anyway - it's not an exploit. It was designed this way. Bad design is bad design. I believe and is of the opinion that it is a design flaw. You can't refute my claims just like I can't refute yours. ~ Bioware decide that once you leave WZ you are back to your current location ~ Bioware decide that kicked players are drop in fleet. You believe BW did a conscious decision on letting people who get kicked from a WZ have an easy way to the fleet. I believe it's an oversight on their part. I really don't care about other players in this game most of the time. Really. It's first MMO when I feel that way. Why ? Because I don't even see them most of my time. Game: ~ split us every 3-4 lvl per planet ~ split us every 1 lvl per area on planet ~ split us every 1-4 people per quest (instances) Not caring about other players is not a legitimate reason for anything, it just shows what kind of person you are. Even in WZ I was playing as part of a team for whole time until I realized that there is no point. I prefer to throw ball to enemy and kill him for more points, exp, credits, valor than score a point and gain nothing (not even objective points !!!). If your team's winning already, it's a good way to make sure the rest of your team focuses targets. Plus it's a good CC. Throwing the ball to the enemy is fun in some games. Glad GW2 is just around the corner. Your opinion: Getting to fleet by timing out on a WZ is a feature, implemented by BW to be used by the players. My opinion: Getting to fleet by timing out on a WZ is an unintended flaw in the design that shouldn't be used actively as a free pass by anyone (primarily due to the negative impact it has on the rest of the people in said WZ.) If BW wanted people to be able to get to the fleet anywhere, anytime, they wouldn't have put the emergency fleet pass on an 18h timer... Applying logic on something, usually makes it quite clear whether some "feature" was intended or not.
