Comfterbilly
One big difference between Swtor and Lotro, not that it impacts on the game itself, is trivial yet striking: names. In Lot-ro, we had people who were not deterred even by the prospect of learning Elvish just to be able to choose an authentic name for their character. I've read all five of the books, plus the appendixes and let me tell you, I'm lucky I was in the top 100 biggest fanboys because all the good lore-names were taken, as were even the most obscure names (meanwhile you had people learning Elvish well enough to invent their own names - even I'm impressed). Gladly subscribing to Swtor after ten years of Kotor fandom, it does feel a little bit like Idiocracy, waking up out of a time machine and being like 'what changed..." lol. Suddenly everybody is named "Cheeto," "Frito," "***'Face," and "Butt're-Finger". I thought there would at least be a bunch of comic-book nerds like myself who liked the extended lore, even though I've never personally been the kind to enjoy "media-comics". Nope! LOL. So be it. Zannis
So would you say then that those who role-play and prefer names derived from the lore are of a higher intelligence than those who do not?

No but its a culture shock, whatever is to be made of it.
