RohanEagle
Some Screens, why SWTOR is the most Hardware Killer Application, named MMO you ever see. First off all, the first screen proofs, that already on the Login Screen your Hardware goes in stress mode. http://www.swtor-mmorpg.com/img/gpu_temp2.png The second screen shows you that there is enough only to make SWTOR to run as Icon, that the temps goes instant down to the normal. http://www.swtor-mmorpg.com/img/gpu_temp3.png The third screen shows you, how SWTOR will kill your hardware in not very long time, as my friends Laptop Toshiba Qosmio X300-15Q (2.500$] was killed in only 3 Days. http://www.swtor-mmorpg.com/img/gpu_temp4.png Compare with another MMO: Aion http://www.abload.de/img/gpu_temp5aaulr.png Lotro http://www.abload.de/img/gpu_temp6icxji.png Videocard: MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II 2GD5/OC - Grafikkarte - GF GTX 560 Ti, V238-248R http://www.hardocp.com/images/articles/1297685175JTkEbytVuw_1_2_l.jpg CPU Cooler Noctua NH-D14 http://www.guru3d.com/imageview.php?image=21175 http://www.abload.de/img/gpu_temp2sd11j.png http://www.abload.de/img/gpu_temp3ee35v.png http://www.abload.de/img/gpu_temp4913w0.png Edited February 23, 2012 by RohanEagle
TheOnlyKyrenS
I call shenanigans on this. My toshiba satelitte plays the game and doesn't get hot at all. been playing it everyday for 4+ hours since launch. nice try though.
Vikassi
I can agree with this, i have to jack up my GPU's fan to 75% while playing this game or the card heats up very quickly. Mind you, i have a GTX 590, and the game runs pretty bad when shadows are enabled .. very disappointing.
uidLucid
I don't experience these problems.
Delusionallama
Your screen caps show nothing but your lack of proper ventilation and cooling. I run the game fine on my Laptop and my Desktop and I have no issues regarding temperature and the CPU/GPU/RAM usages are not out of the ordinary for MMO's. -Fritz-
my game runs fine... ...though the game doesnt even leave foot prints in the sand with everything on high setting. i just have to wonder where the graphics team was at on this one. there are so many rudimentary mistakes with making the world feel alive and proper in this game. You cant make eyebrows match hair color... i mean really. You dont leave foot prints in soft landscapes when you walk... wavy sand with a footpath trail, yet you leave no foot prints... i feel completely detached from the world. whatever. NatEccs
FYI, 80c is not too hot for a video card when I play swtor my cpu temps barely exceed 50c when i run BOINC all my cores are at 70c
Khryn
I do agree that the game is obviously poorly optimized and pushes hardware more than what I feel it should be.... And my temps do increase, but of course that's like saying "Oh no, the stove got hot when I turned it on." Make sure you clean your computer thoroughly. Mine was dusty and needed cleaned. Lowered temps quite a bit then.

Vlacke
FYI, 80c is not too hot for a video card Exactly, 80c is perfectly normal for a video card on high load, no harm will come to it whatsoever. Orexxis
you know what happens every single time i put a game into my 360? the fans kick up as it launches the game. derp herp. Nice try! Obviously I mean more than the normal stress a game would apply, and I've run quite a few on higher settings with the fans not going mental. Herp derp right back. Fans shouldn't go crazy when it's just the title screen, and my hardware is not to blame. The game itself runs fine.
