SStephan
BioWare and LucasArts are excited to announce that Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ will officially launch in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Singapore on March 1st, 2012! Fans in these regions who purchase the game will be able to experience their very own Star Wars™ saga on regional servers. Players who have already begun their journey will also have a limited-time opportunity to migrate their characters from their current servers to Asia Pacific servers after the launch on March 1st. This can only mean even more EU empty servers ...... Wonder what they will do to fix this upcmming problem.
kionter
I think most people agree that they need to reduce the number of servers. sure it made it easier to manage at launch but they are not needed anymore
Vraesh
And just think, 2 months ago, people were threatening to quit the game if they didn't open even MORE servers. Keep this in mind when you read all of the 'Omg, nerf class X now/implement a dungeon finder, or I quit' threads.
Stealthy_Monkey
Oceanic players get better pings on US servers. You have very little to fear. At least less to fear then several US servers like swiftsure and harbinger
Noirmorris
We're discussing about this tremendous issues here: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=308227 Probably today we'll discover if EU players (at least the majority) need to pay more fees or not. Stealthy_Monkey
the main issue is not about ping, but about the times of the day that most people play. I'll rephrase. A large proportion of the oceanic player base have rolled on a handful of servers designated as unofficial oceanic servers. I'd suggest the eu realms will see very little impact compared to the united states players on these realms
