have you tried "force kick" ? it will interrupt the current action and prevent it from being used for 4 seconds. also, "force leap" will do the same thing though you need to be 10 meters from target (run/walk away then leap back). Also, "force sweep" can stun the target and sometimes stop the current action.

I had big probs with scorc's at the same lvl for the same reasons. send Kira or T7 in first then force leap in a couple of sec's later to interrupt.

hope this helps

The key to fighting a Sorc is to NOT open with Force Leap. Instead just run at them(pop Rebuke while doing so to mitigate some damage). Once they use their knockback, you Force Leap in. From here on out you should be able to maintain decent enough uptime. Just interupt whatever you feel you need to. It may be their damaging abilities, it may be their heals. You can also use Force Stasis as a second interupt although it's on a 1 minute cooldown, but it is nice as it's a stun and will buy you three seconds of no damage intake while also building Focus.

I see your point with Force Leap, makes total sense. but the OP's at lvl24 and so no force stasis at that lvl if memory serves. (could be wrong 'bout that one)

Lack of tools is probably a significant factor. You want to dump points into the Blurred Speed, which lowers the cooldown on Force Leap, and Close Quarters, which will lower the minimum distance to 0m. That is a fair amount of points, so it will take you a few more levels to get there. Also you wanna put points into Watchguard, which will lower the cooldown on kick to 6 seconds.

Kick is important. Make sure it is on an easy to use key-bind. You should have it by now, make sure you are using it.

At the level you are at, Watchman doesn't have enough points into it yet to really shine. I am really sorry to say this, cause it doesn't help at all, but it does get better. From the way you are talking, it sounds as though you mean PvP, and at that level in that environment, Sentinels are in big trouble. People love to focus us. But don't give up, keep learning from your experiences, and soon enough it will be your turn.

Yep, totally agree. Sentinel's are a labor of love it seems but once you get some good rotations down they can be a lot of fun. (many many thanks Maefly, I'm a much better player now because of your thread)

One last little trick that can help. At your level you must have crippling throw/blade storm. (Force stasis is at lvl 24 btw)

When your force leap is ready in fight (after 15s for u probably), and that you just used your Kick, you can run away from your target and cast crippling throw/blade storm. Both have a 10m range so it will give u time to get out of range to leap on his face again, break the following cast and build quite some focus. It's risky and tricky (may mess up your rotation a little bit) but still interesting to know.

An other very important point against sorc is what spec they are. When you chose your target pay attention to the spells he casts most of the time. If it is a healer, obviously break the heals. But if it is a dps, Kick their channeling. Their heal is so pitiful that it will simply delay his death by 1.5s, but his damage spell will tear you appart. Remember that non heal specced sorc suffer from pushback after each of your attacks. It may help you if you doubt wich spec your prey is. Dps sorc only have have one main dps cast. Break it and not only they will be lost as they planned on spamming it, but they will also lose their main tool to defeat you.

Non-heal sorcs may suffer pushback, but the halfway decent ones are really good about having static shield up as often as possible.

I've been running into that quite a bit as a low level Sentinel in pvp. Sorcs are a tough nut to crack because they'll knock you back, static shield, heal, then force speed away if things start getting dicey. That just gives them more time to pop another static shield and squeeze off another heal as well. Usually by the time they've run out of options, friends of theirs show up. Its the most frustrating thing ever.

The best way I've seen to handle sorcs(and pvp as a sentinel in general) is to always stick with friends. Double or triple team. Follow the dps train and prioritize killing off enemies that are already damaged. NEVER be the first one to jump into combat: that's a death sentence for non-tank melee.
