After the last patch I've noted increasing difficulties in micromanaging the energy bar.

In fact while before the last patch I had almost no problems with energy (except in very "thick" situations) now I'm out of energy 3/4 of my time.

So I ask you Gentlebeings: did I miss something (yes, I'm a bit absent minded lately, so spare me the "read the note 2.309, subsection 3.2, noob") or do I have a personal bug?

I've noticed it, too, but can't quite put my finger on what it is yet. Until we figure it out... do what I do: Die = instant energy regen :D

Then yer fully charged and back in the fight.

WTB kamikaze bandanna? :D

Oh well, at least I'm not alone in this...I was getting a little bit paranoid :D

EDIT: last minute suggestion: I was told to check the timing of CD's. This would imply that activating an energy consuming skill *during* his CD (happens in frantic fights) would not trigger the skill but eat up the energy bar, nonetheless.

May this help? I know is a bit stretched as theory but since I have no clue...

which spec you have?

Mainly sharpshooter but I consider the specs inconsequential, since I didn't modify them. (ok, no. I just added Hot Pursuit but I doubt this can be the cause)

The "turning point" was last patch: since then I haven't changed specs or equipment and I always keep my equipment repaired.

So no. Simply I do now eat up energy at an increased rate with no changing in specs and/or equip.

That's why I am annoying you all on the boards. :o

No, in fact.

TBH I just noticed a difference in energy requirements after last patch, all the rest isn't changed, so I'm positive this isn't bound to changes in equips or skills.

And to repeat myself: since I don't have a clue about this I opened this thread, to:

1) Find out if is just me or a common issue.

2) THrowing in some theories.

3) And eventually find a solution.

Your confusion lies in the nerf to surge. You are taking longer to kill, so you have to put more skills into a single target which depletes your energy quicker than you thought before.

The surge nerf hit our class so hard we are barely viable now.

So you're implying that surge nerf blammed my critical hit bonuses so hard that I am now useful like a clown attending a funeral parlor?

That's quite sad :(

If this is what he is implying, he is wrong. The surge nerf would have taken off about 10% of your surge. That is really not that much.

10% off each point, but you forget about the soft cap. Battlemaster gunslingers on all servers are losing as much as 50% damage, reminding people how underpowered we actually are.

We stacked surge to get COMPARABLE damage to other classes. Now? We have significantly less.

Now our class just isn't viable anymore.

If you were stacking super large amounts of surge, than you are exactly who the nerf was intended for.

I won't say we don't have issues in PvP, and I am certainly not a battlemaster (rank 33, full champ set) - but to say that a 10% surge nerf makes us completely not viable...

By the way, I am using 10% here as an estimate. I am basing that off of several guild mates who, for PvE reasons, were stacking Surge and after the nerf lost about 10% *overall* surge.

I was at 89% surge for a while in my PVE gear before the nerf. I replaced it with some power and accuracy gear anticipating the nerf incoming and went down to about 82%. After the nerf I am sitting at 68% surge and i took a noticeable damage hit. I do more over all damage since i started getting power (in rakata gear) but still was a significant hit in our damage. I still do great damage but it is not as much as it was but I will have to play a little different to make up for that.
