Is this game worth playin' to 50? I have a 25 Marauder, and I am enjoying myself, but I'm getting a bit discouraged by friends who have returned to WoW.

I mean, I can play an MMO alone np, I just want to know if it's worth the ride and a resub to you.

The game was entertaining for two playthroughs. After that gets old real quick.

The major problems I see now is that many of the worlds are way underpopulated and it feels like your playing a single player game instead of a MMO. Where there used to be constant general chatter to form groups for heroics the last two weeks there has been hardly any on my server.

If your having fun that's all that matters though. I just wouldn't sign up more than a month at a time.

Gaming experience has become stale since I hit 50 with my BH healer, no groups for anything. Leveling a sorcerer because its OP, and it is...

If you want to enjoy the game by now, dont get to lvl cap, thats a free advice.

Worth playing tell 50 YES... worth doing each planets story line quests? YES. Worth doing side quests beyond that? NO. Worth playing after 50? MAYBE pending larger servers, server transfers.... and a LFG system (haters gonna hate).

The main problem isn't that it feels like a single player game, the problem is it's lacking polish that single player games have, if all the planets were full of life like in games like Skyrim and stuff it would not be a problem, but it's not even close to that, everything just feels dead, the only thing that gives the game life is the other players, there is very little attention to detail and everything feels static and dead.

I'm only 38 on my highest, so I can't comment on up to 50. However, SWTOR is the first game that I've enjoyed all the way through leveling thus far, even considering my character's story (Smuggler) isn't all that interesting after the initial bit. I've never once felt like I've been grinding, or just pushing myself to the next level.

The Marauder has a decent story, so I'd encourage you to play it to the end. After that... Well TOR becomes a different game at 50.

I did find the marauder story the best out of the trooper and BH. Playing a Light-sided marauder the choices were actually good, especially in Belsavis. I did pick the evil choice at the end; couldn't help myself.

To me it would be worth it time for money, I could finish my main's story and progress more on alts, maybe get one of them to story's end.

I won't resub or continue playing at this time because more important than the time for money value is the company behind this product. I've had poor experiences with CS and I feel the technical support people don't care about serious issues as well as the management. I see them as feeling they've got their money and don't have to fix anything, they'll do what they want and not worry about things that are really poorly designed or even 'crippling' to customers.

I won't support that with anything more than I've already spent on this product.

The other aspect to going to 50 is what will you do then? For me it will have to be play more alts until I hit 50 on them or just get bored/burned out on the leveling process as the endgame content in this game has only a small appeal to me. So I look at it as why bother working to get there when I'll have 'nothing to do'. I'd do it in a single player game because that would 'end' my story and I could play as other classes whenever I wanted to at no charge.

I see no reason to pay BW more money when they operate their company as they do so my characters can stand around for 6months, a year or more for them to add more content I'd like to use them for. That might not even happen, BW might not plan to add anything I'd like to see so there is no reason to 'hope' they will as I see it.

If you have played WoW extensively i would probably say no.

You'd be doing exactly what you did in WoW just in a star wars universe.

If not then absolutely

I'd say untill 50 it's definitely worth it. Can't say too much about the endgame experience as I'm not much of an endgamer in these games.

Sadly replay( or reroll-)ability is not as high as I expected due to the linearity. But you'll see that for yourself once you get there.

I unsubbed 20 minutes after I hit 50. The story is nice, but it ends at 50. I don't like the game for any reason other than idle curiosity with the story. That's my 2 cents.

Some of the light/dark point assignments feel a bit weird tho. Gaining light side points because

you send a captured spy, who was willing to switch over and proved herself capable, to work for Imperial Intelligence

is a real headscratcher. It's like light/dark isn't measured as good/evil, but rather as intelligent/brainless.

Heck, I had that with my Bounty Hunter at some point. Gaining light side points for convincing some force users to embrace the darkness and kill their Jedi master was a real sucker punch.

It's absolutely worth playing from 1 to 50.

Is it worth playing after you hit the level cap? Well, that's an interesting question...
