Cerai Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 (edited) All right, I have been playing TOR quite heavily since launch as many of, if not more, of you have, and I have a list of things I would love to see added to the game as time moves on. It is my hopes that users will be able to add their support and own ideas to create a better experience both logistically and in immersion. 1.) Add a cut-scene Viewer/Renderer to re-enjoy some of the best moments of TOR: Here is why and how. Playing TOR as we all know is a large investment of time as all MMOs tend to be. But as this particular MMO has a rather unique take on individual stories (as in ACTUALLY having one) It kinda sucks to be unable to revisit some of the greater or more touching moments. I suggest adding an option to review these scenes using one of the mouse droids that follows us around observing our adventures. This solution would be best, as you could select the option to recreate a simulation of your past, but it would be dependent on whatever planet you are on, preventing massive load screens every time you switch planets for a simple cut-scene viewer. The only addition would be to add perhaps a place for the mouse droid on the ship to recreate the conversations there, and the proper testing to make sure no one gets extra affection from these scenes. Of course you could always make it unlock at 50 as well. 2.) Make an ability, (legacy?) that makes it so Sage, and Sorcerer Light sabers are not merely for show. This is a complaint I have heard from many sages and sorcerers. while they have melee attacks they are fairly useless. What I propose is an ability that I hear is utilized in WoW for the paladin class called reckoning. The jist of it is you gain power to unleash in a devastating special move or series of moves. In this case it would be based on damage or heals. Eventually it reach a reasonable cap in which the sage sorcerer could use one, or several kick *** saber moves. 3.) Make a Bail out feature for taxis. Once hitting 50 on a fully discovered planet I should not have to ride the taxi all the way to its destination. (legacy?) I understand this is something many MMO players would think is odd, but at level 50 the traveling constrictions become cumbersome and it would be very easy, and a lot of fun to press jump twice and leap from the speeder/thranta in a showy arrival at your intended destination. Upon dismounting, Speeders would then veer off course and explode. while Thrantas would fly off gracefully as always. Of course, the consequences of jumping would depend entirely on WHERE you jumped but as you have a great respawn, and stuck solutions, I believe the benefits would greatly outweigh the downside while differentiating yourself from the standard MMO. 4.) Mounts need to have a boost (guns later?) Mounts need a boost, it would be awesome and fun. Plus imagine if you made it so boost hits targets (for minimal damage) and a knockback. It could be fun to recapture the speeder chase feel (and sound) of episode 6 with some faster speeders. If some areas allowed mounted combat with guns, that would be a whole new level of awesome for a future expansion. 5.) A future expansion with the ability to fall to the dark side/raise to the lightside. This is the natural evolution of the story for many of the classes. All htat is needed for most of the classes, is some kind of secret undercover infiltration mission. For others like the BH or Smuggler, have them run to ground in republic space while evading some new enemy. Either way, the story could force the player to execute missions for the other side, and unlock, and create hybrid classes. (Saber in one hand blaster in the other is popular) At the end you can stay loyal or switch sides. 6.) Powers and abilities that recognize your alignments. Change the color of force lightning, Project, and other attacks that are applicable to match the alignment of the character using them. It would be cool, and make each character, feel unique. Force lightning is easiest. 7.) Balance PVP by having an alternate way to use the project and force push abilities (legacy or alignment based?) My solution for this would be simply to make the jedi moves hit instantly. This would be best done by creating move permutations that animate a force push into another object the jedi pulls from the ground, rather than levitating then throwing. Would need work, but it is just an idea. 8.) Moral grey choices that add points to both categories. Lets face it, the empire and republic leaders can be pretty damn stupid. Having compromising grey solutions to some problems, would be awesome. Ideal for the expansions that follow this game in the distant future. 9.) More space combat and new space combat segments that break off the rails with pvp and cooperative missions. Its been said before, and I agree. Full space combat would be awesome. 10.) The other stuff that has been said before. -Hood toggles for chest pieces that have hoods -Companion head slot toggles so helmets don't kiss Edited February 16, 2012 by Cerai Grammar
Inarai Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 1: Like the idea. Locked to the version you experienced, perhaps? 2: Might cause issues in so far as the idea that the Legacy system isn't supposed to alter balance is concerned. 3: Interesting. Might have a couple issues depending on specific pathing, but I'm not sure. Merits discussion. 4: Speeder abilities? Might be an interesting set of legacy powers... 5: Dark/Light side has nothing to do with faction. At all. But faction changing is right out - one of the earliest decisions they made, and it's kind of like a load bearing wall. Trying to do it would cause a lot of other things to crumble. 6: Like the idea (myself and others have made similar proposals before) - maybe a legacy benefit? 7: Mirror balancing should not in any way relate to Legacy. Needs to be done at the basic class level - there's been a few methods suggested. At the end of the day, Shock's gonna need some kind of delay though. 8: This has problems in terms of the "making sense" category, plus it would make it HARDER to play a Grey character, which they've already promised to add things in for. 9: Expanded space combat would be good. 10: Yeah, that would be handy.
