AlphaBraddox
I for one hate it when MMOs offer extremely limited choices of end game gear because eventually everyone in your class will look exactly the same. As stated in another similar thread, most MMO devs dont get the fact that many players get attached to their toons and prefer to make their toons unique to their tastes. It is hard to feel unique when you look like your from a toy factory assembly line and all sharing the same clothes. Of course no MMO can have a limitless variety of same level end game gear but what about customization of existing gear skins? Is this possible from a dev point of view? Would be awesome if devs are able to boost the work bench features to allow players to alter their armor skins. It would be too much to ask to change the shape of the armor (or is it?). Work bench features to include: -Changing armor highlight colors from a pallet (similar to dyeing armor) -Change armor skin patterns (ex. from default orange to woodland camo) -Change color of helmet visor and any glowing electronic lights. -etc.... Your thoughts???
Snobbenunge
You could dye your gear etc in Ultima Online and Everquest, that was a long time ago. It wasn't perfect, but it made sure you didn't completely look like a clown in mismatched clothes....Or that you did, if this was your desire (half-naked mages with halberds, black sandals and aprons come to mind)
Burklen
I posted in the other thread which I cannot find now. I rolled a BH last night and got to level 11 with a friend, we were having loads of fun until we went to look at our endgame gear. I'm sorry to say but the gear design is appalling and the inability to customise your look apart from orange gear just doesn't cut it when the levelling gear looks much more appealing. It made both my friend and I apathetic to levelling our bounty hunters with the intention of playing endgame PvP, since we both like our characters to look a specific way. All we need AT LEAST is either PvP/PvE mods or an Appearance Tab. That however still does not excuse the terrible design on the endgame sets. WE WANT CLASSICAL STYLES, we don't need to have things hanging off us at every angle. Give me simple sith robes over the ridiculous trooper-ish armour that I currently have. Even a simple bounty hunter trenchcoat with some tech would be nice.

AlphaBraddox
Yes an appearance/vanity tab would be nice too. As above stated things are coming but what specific to end game gear? More of the same or can we actually make our toons customizable?

The color part was not so good it only had three colors you could change but everything was always colored to match. Then you could equip what ever armored items you wanted and lock your appearance with any item you ever looted or equipped.
Hyper_
You do realise this is being implemented soon, I think with 1.2 patch, stop ************ and do some actual research on the problems you have before complaining it makes life easier, not full customization mind you just being able to rip mods out of teiir gear Edited February 16, 2012 by Hyper_
