pigeonlad
My Scoundrel (or Harry) is level 31, but I am having trouble beating the quest Paladins on Alderaan, which is targeted for level 28. All my skill points are in the scrapper skill tree due to him being really, really weak when I had them in Sawbones. Corso and Harry both have good armor I have triple checked that, as well. So, can anyone give me a good strategy or idea to help me out? Thanks.
Chaymus
My first suggestion is gear, that's probably what's making this hard. (I see you checked armor, the main stats and crit will help most around this level, I don't think you can effectively stack power/forcetech yet to help significantly.) Also, orange level 20 gear isn't as good as green/blue lvl 28 gear if the stats are right. Second, if you're just healing and rely on the companion to do the damage make sure you're concious of when an interrupt is needed. This will be especially hard if you keep your companion targetted for the whole fight. My advice is let your companion take some damage and if you see a delay in the mob attack disrupt it. LiquidHayter
Make sure you are grabbing the commendations instead of the gear after quests too. The gear bought with those are almost always better than quest gear. As a Scrapper myself, the only quests I've had trouble where against the Sith and Diago and some of the final secondary quests ie: destroy x amount of baddies, interact with x amount of objects, kill final boss. Other than that, the game hasn't proven to be that difficult. I usually start with my DoT or Shoot First, then start pistol whipping them and kicking them in the nads, make sure to throw on Pungentcy, and if Corso is around half health switch to him and start healing. After that, make sure your DoT is always up and be ready to use Cool Head and All In. Usually can take a champ or an elite out everytime less there lvl is higher than you. Inibalir
You're weak because that is the way they want you apparently...
tinybabychickens
Youll have to be specific with what problems youre having if you want specific responses, elites, packs of mobs, you feel maybe you dont do enough damage, take too much etc etc. As for elites, with a scrapper its pretty easy to trivilize alot of elites through your continual interruption. Distract, their first cast, dirty kick their next cast, distract their 3rd, flash bang their fourth, distract their 5th. Which means on elites with cast times you can essentially lock them out of using any abilities except auto attacks for like a good 30-40 seconds, which is usually enough time to kill them. As for packs, if you feel like youre having problems, id recommend turning any aoe your pet has off, and tranquillizing a target. On most packs, youll see something like 2 normals and a strong. Tranq the strong, get behind a normal and blow it up, finish the other, heal up/get energy etc then wake up the tranquillized target. Ive said before but I never had any problems with fights I saw coming. If i was approaching a pack of mobs or an elite I could say well heres how Ill go about this, and would have no problems, only real probelms Id have is if I got jumped by a pathing strong/elite, or accidentally pulling packs, but even then I could just vanish. Id be happy to try and offer you any advice I can, but youll need to be a bit more specific with what your problem area is. For starts, lets say you see a pack of mobs, a strong and 2 regulars, what do you normall do to start the fight? Whats your ability rotation on a tough mob? Also whats the objectives in the Paladin quest? Edited February 16, 2012 by tinybabychickens

Coldin
Need more information to really help. What companion are you using? Note that green level gear isn't that good. It's fine for companions, but you really should be trying to keep yourself in Blue or better quality gear. 30s can be a trouble spot. You haven't gotten your opener yet, so you can't burst down the weak mobs quickly. Make use of Sucker Punch and Back Blast as much as you can. If you have Flying Fists and Round Two, also use Vital Shot so you're getting the extra Upper Hand. I do recommend spending 2 points into Exploratory Surgery. Getting a faster UWM and a free Upper Hand makes swapping over to some quick heals a lot easier. You can top up your companion or yourself, and then get back into the fight with a Sucker Punch ready to go.
Baelish
I find as a Sawbones using Corso that sacrificing the opening Backblast/Shoot First is worth it so you can have Corso to pull the fight to you so you and he can both AE your little hearts out without worrying about breaking the CC on the larger mob . dottim
for me personally, my damage started to shoot up when I reached lvl 36-39 that's when I really started to love the scoundrel, shoot first helps a great deal and when it crits (with the extra crit damage talent) it usually takes 60-70% of a normal mods health away making it possible to 2-shot most normal mobs if you follow up with a backblast it also took another jump upwards my damage when I installed all the mods from the pvp gear at lvl 39 in my own orange gear (I couldn't wait another level to wear the set + my own gear looks much better anyway) thanks to the armor mods my survivability increased as well and now that I have the tuna man with me as my healer in pve I seem to do really well
MrSteak
You need to CC and stun as much as possible. And use Bowdaar.
