Dosblade
Guys/gals its only been what going on two months now? And granted a lot of what I am reading needs to be done but come on can't be done in a week let alone one month and we know this. And what we want done how long do WE want them to test it? A day, a week? = time
Jellison
And what we want done how long do WE want them to test it? A day, a week? = time I want them testing their patches for AT LEAST a week before deployment to prevent problems with them.
Anomorn
You can't deny that the launch of SWTOR was a rather large failure in most respects.
Amdarius
Sorry, I don't believe in paying for beta. The "more time" cry is perfectly legitimate during beta, not after launch. They spent many years developing this game. If it launches without features that should've been in the game at launch, that's Bioware/EA's fault. They can lose subscriptions and momentum because of their mistake. After fixing/adding things that should've been in place at launch, they can hope to recover some of those subs. Probably will get some back, but this is the price of launching a featureless AAA title that is designed as a single player KOTOR3 with almost no guild or community functionality. Tuscad
I don't believe the game was rushed as it took 6 years to get this thing out, I believe the Development teams just did not know how to manage their time.
SWaotc
6 years, its a disgrace. I'm a solo player in it for the story and the SW vibe, but the on rails action throughout, complete lack of choices bores me senseless. Not something they can fix really, the only thing i think of now with regards to SWTOR is, oh FFS....

What launch have you been a part of that was better?

Takauri
And the launch is what really hurt them. They are stable now, but it was rough at launch. If, by "rough", you mean that Trion had the most successful & smooth launch in MMO history then yes, I agree with you They also had a lot of endgame content, community functionality and didn't funnel you anywhere near as much as Bioware have done here It took me 8 months to get to the point of not wanting to play Rift anymore due to running out of content and not wanting to grind dailies anymore - it took 5 weeks here which includes 2 weeks to level up to 50 without skipping anything
Meldwyn
I have to be honest, I struggle with this concept. Giving a company time, after I have already purchased their product, to upgrade, add functionality, etc... just doesn't make sense in my head. Now, Expansions, I get... sure, new content, makes sense. But features, many would call "standard", is another story for me. This is where I think BW kinda dropped the proverbial ball on SW. They left out functionality and features that many would consider game changers and are slow in getting them implemented. To say, "That's something we want to do at some point, we are definitely looking in to it." is a sorry excuse for pandering to your customers. I could say that about anything, with no ramifications if it never gets done.

SoullessCaptain
Look if i went and bought a new phone and it only had features from 3 years ago and they sold it for the same price of an Iphone with the same monthly rate would you say more time just get the crappy version and wait apple has been making phones for years this new company needs to catch up? Of course you wouldn't! The same should go for MMO's but MMO players are the worst consumers on the planet.

Do we keep paying the sub and leveling, hoping the game gets more social or more end game content or non-combat game play to look forward to? Without knowing whats to come, its hard to keep up the grind, as well as the $$. Edited February 15, 2012 by MefuneAkira

I do enjoy other genre's of games, lots in fact. I enjoyed WoW when I played, enjoy the ME series, pinball machines, uprights, COD, card games, and hand helds... heck, there really are very few genre's I don't like... been gaming since the 70's. So, you may be right. Maybe I have moved on from the MMO genre. Then again, maybe this MMO just doesn't have as many features as I would like, thus making it a little less exciting to play. idk... Biowares seems to think they've fixed them, even though many of the issues are still there, because now they're working on "quality of life" patches. I mean SWTOR didn't have huge server stability issues at launch so they didn't need to deal with that, they had plenty of time to be working on all the other issues since launch, some of which they fixed, but didn't actually fix. I think Bioware's Dev's think patches work on MMO magick, where they write what they want fixed into the patch notes and then a little goblin or gnome get's downloaded into your PC and does all the fixing from there. I dunno I was one of the people defending that game in the first month, but I've seen nothing but inaction from these guys. It wasn't the trolls or hateboys that broke my spirit, it was Bioware themselves. Edited February 15, 2012 by HavenAE

It took me about four weeks in RIFT be be super bored. The quests were super boring. The landscape was dull (colors). The only fun thing was the rifts. I played the free month and 1 60 day card. Never went back. I never understood why RIFT was so awesome. I thought it was a dull wow clone with rifts.

SWTOR was one of the smoothest launches ever, WoW was still having servers crash on us after two months in, not to mention the 100 page list of other problems its had.\
