RiverboatGambler Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 So I'm fairly new to the game, I'm level 17 on my first character, a jug, and I've been building him as dps. But what I've noticed now that I have started to party with other people for harder missions is that there seems to be a lack of meat shields out there. So I usually end up filling that role. And i actually enjoy it but is there any point in going the immortal tree? I've been doing vengence and rarely do I find myswlf in trouble. Is it just because I'm lower level or can you be a decent tank while going the dps route? My understanding is that I can skill reset, is this something I should do?

You can respec into the Immortal tree and tank. Not the best tanlk in the world but you have that option. To repec see the skill vendor on fleet or in major cities. Supposedly all tank trees are designed to be equivilant. Not sure if that is actually true. Edited February 15, 2012 by Owsley

If you do plan to tank in the long term then you should respec yes. It will give you more survivabillity and also taunts and other abilities to help you. When you get higher level groups will usually not accept you if you are not specced for Tanking. Try it and if you don't like it you can always respec back. The first few respecs aren't that costly and the cost also resets every Tuesday, so... (I think it's Tuesday anyway) Good luck!
RiverboatGambler Posted February 15, 2012 Author Posted February 15, 2012 Ya I'm just wondering if its worth it tho because as i said dos seems to be working okat right now
Eternalnight Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Right now? You're level 17 and have only 7 skillpoints which is practically nothing. The higher level you get the bigger the difference will be. Getting a few levels higher and the difference will be huge.
Morfedd Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Keep speccing the way you want to until it becomes a problem, then respec into one of the more effective tanking specs. As long as what you are doing is working - there's no reason to change. Some time in the next 10 or 15 levels you'll probably start to have problems tanking with a DPS spec - that's when you should respec.
dosadnik Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Ya I'm just wondering if its worth it tho because as i said dos seems to be working okat right now Well in my opinion I think it will end up affecting it as you get to higher level content. Now I'm not a tank and I haven't played a Jugg so i'm not the most knowledgeable about it. But again, try one way and if it doesn't work try the other way and see which one is best.
RiverboatGambler Posted February 15, 2012 Author Posted February 15, 2012 That's what I was curious about. thanks for the quick responses everyone ill reset to tank!
