I far prefer the Sentinel skills to the Consular skills, but I would also like my weapon of choice to be a double-bladed lightsabre. Oh, and let it be green. Please let it be green! However some abilities require the use of two sabers, so animations would have to be changed if you were wielding a double bladed one.

That isn't a real choice, a Sentinel with only one saber would just gimp himself horribly. Honestly, if it were up to me, I'd make the use of double-bladed sabers or dual sabers a level 50 ability for insane money, maybe even with a few compulsory quests thrown in. After all, those are supposed to be a lot more difficult to handle than a single saber. But there would be outrage of course.
CecilTellyn Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I don't think you'll be getting the different saber options any time soon since that is really what differentiates the various classes. That said, I'm a Guardian and I use a green saber all the time. Green crystals aren't hard to get and I even got one as a quest reward once. Yeah, the game really tries to make you use blue but it's not terribly hard to find green yourself.

J/k It's funny you should bring this up, because many times as a shadow, I've wished I could use a single saber. It makes a lot more sense as an infiltrator to not have to carry around a giant broomstick all the time, plus the consular single saber style has some pretty cool animations. I *can* wield a single saber, but my most important abilities are tied to a double saber, so it's not really an option. I think most people would support being able to choose whichever style blade you want at 50. It makes much more sense that a Jedi Knight, who is a champion lightsaber wielder, would be able to use a double saber if they chose to than a consular, who is a champion force wielder. When I played KOTOR I had Revan equipped with a purple double saber, and the combat animations in that game were amazing for how old the game is. Give us all the option to use whatever we want!

And if shadow is anything like assassin (which I'd expect to be mirrors), they'll have some pretty nifty melee prowess and some very nice things knights could only wish they had. On an interesting note, when it comes to personal choice, it may be worth noting to you that knights and consulars can still equip their variants of vibroblades, and the orange, customisable ones are equal to the power of lightsabers.
