Hi all,

I'm thinking of purchasing a new laptop for under 1000 euro if i can.

Will this work:

ASUS K53SC-SX307V

Intel® Core™ i5-2430M Dual Core (2.4GHz)

8GB RAM

NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 520MX with 1GB DDR Dedicated Memory

500GB @5400 Hard Drive

I would appreciate feedback if someone has the same GFX card :)

Thanks for any help in advance!

if thats your hard drive RPM go and throw it though thier window.

your grapics card is ok, your hard drive speed is not so great, it will still run however the loading screens will drive you nuts just as they do me.

TBH, I play the game on a 4 year old notebook running an older video andtye same speed hard drive. I do have more RAM is all. It runs OK although I have all the graphics turned way down. Its a huge difference from my desktop in the look and feel but rarely have fps issues in game.

I rarely have fps issues but my loading screens are from hell, where as on my desktop i have 30 second loading screens max.

No laptop will run SWTOR fine.

Wrong...

Lenovo T420s

i7 2620M @ 2.7GHz

8GB DDR3

nVidia NVS 4200M

160GB Intel X-25M SSD

At 1600x900 with all settings on low except Character LoD on High I'm in the 20s in the open areas of fleet and go as high as 60fps. Movement is completely smooth, no jitters or hitching.

I normally play in windowed mode at 1280x768 since I do a lot of alt-tabbing and then I'm in the 50s.

This laptop is roughly $1200 US.

I play on an HP I7 gaming laptop with a Radeon HD 6770M graphics adapter and a 5400 RPM hard drive. I run with everything set on low. It works fine for regular play but I try to raid on my son's i5 desktop. The reason being that I seem to have a half second delay between the time I hit the key to run and the time I actually move and the AoE will kill you by then...

Ignore the game haters. I run this game fine. Currently have the following

Dell XPS-L502X

I7-2620M

8GB, 1333MHZ, DDR3, 2X4G

Nvidia GeForce GT 540M

I have the above sitting on a cooler master cooling pad and connected to a 32" LCD running at 1920x1080. I can run everything at max settings with out any problems cept PVP. For FPS sake I run everything at mid settings - I get on average 40-50FPS at all times like that. With everything max I can get dips to 20 FPS during intense PVP. As a healer I prefer a bigger safety margin in the FPS area.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

I run everything on max settings other than shadows because I don't like how they look. I run 90-109 fps everywhere but fleet which drops to around 50 fps during peak times (ie: nighttime). I would rather have a desktop but my job requires me to be away from home for 24 hrs at a time. Got to love a job where you can play games while getting paid lol.

Which is exactly the config 95% of ppl will not pay for.

Plus your temperatures are probably shooting to 100° with that anyway so You will fry the laptop in few months of swtor playing.

Lol i played eq2 on this one with 5h+ sessions and haven't had any problems with heat. Playing this game since start of the game and there is still no heat problem. No way i will ever take a desktop again, takes far to much space. Having two laptops on the dining table after work and put them away when we quit, no mess nothing.
