Neenlon
My opinion on legacy is that it should not give direct gameplay advantage but rather give time saving options, customization options and cross character interaction. This way it does not change the gameplay balance but still encourage us to replay the game with multiple characters. I'll make a list and write a few lines about each feature I would like to see. Time saving options: Sprint available from level 1 I think anyone who has started an alt will agree with this one. It could be one of the first things you unlock with your legacy experience. You just run agonisingly slow without sprint and since it only works out of combat you don't effect gameplay balance. Speeder from level 10 (or level 1) Pretty much the same argument as for sprint. It ads convinience. Remove level as a requirmet for speeders and make higher levels of speeder piloting traning availble through the legacy system for low level alts. Drive speeders everywhere I feel like the restriction on where you can drive your speeder is very artifical and should be completly removed. However if you want to do remove it as a reward for reaching a legacy level at least it will be possible. Bypassing the orbital station The orbital stations are bugging me. They are a complete waste of time. Why do I have to run through a long empty airlock, then through an orbital station to take a shuttle to the planet? Two ways off the top of my head to fix this would be to give a popup when you use the door on your spaceship giving you the option to take a direct shuttle to the surface or entering the orbital station or allowing quick travel from the airlock/orbital station and resetting the quick travel cool down immideatly. A shuttle can pick me up in the deepest dunegon but not on the orbital station? Lowerd cooldown on quick travel Quick travel is very nice. Would be even nicer to be able to use it more often. Make this a reward for reaching a legacy level. Faster taxis Okay so taxis makes us see the big wonderful world you have created, all well and good. After a while however it just becomes annoying to wait to get to more of the content. A nice legacy reward would be +100% taxi speed or a checkbox option enabling instant taxi. Customization options: New races There are several NPC races you aren't alowed to play that still have a human shape and wheres noraml items. Let us play these as well. Let me be a Togruta, Nautolan or Kel Dor. Silence the ship droid This may seem minor, but I would love the ability to remove the vocal box from the ship droid making him silent forever. His annoying comments every time I enter my ship does feed both my own and my characters rage. Hide helmet option for companions I would love to be able to hide the helmet for my companion as well as myself. Best would be one more option in preferences "hide companion helmet". Second best would be if it toggled with your own option. Cross character interaction: A common vaulet I can already send money by mail to characters in the same faction and use the auction house on Nar Shaadda to transfer money between empire and republic characters. Having one pool of money tided to my account would be easier and not really change much. A common storage In the cargo hold there are room for one more bay. Let it be a common storage for the legacy, making item transfer between character easy. Bound items to legacy instead of character This would be a great way to gear up new characters and their companions. All items you replace when leveling up could be used by an alt or an alt companion instead of being vendored. Also items that go unused becaouse they are bound on pickup could be moved to an alt. Recepies, Columi items, you name it. I'm sure I just scratched the surface of what you could do with the legacy system and that a lot of what I have written has been suggested before. Please tell me what you think and what more you would like to see added. Is there perhaps an entire catagory of features I have missed that you think should be a part of the legacy system? Angry_Ferth
To add some more on the cross character section it would be nice if your friends list went off of legacy names as well as character names, that way if I have my friends' legacy names on my list I can see all their alts on all of my alts instead of needing to add each character they play on the friend list for each character I play. And silencing the ship droid should be a universal option... Maybe a legacy option could be different personalities for him... not that I could see anything making them more pleasant. Neenlon
A link between character name and legacy would be great on the friends list and in the guild panel as well. I'm in a large guild were a lot of players have alts that they play regularly, and keeping track on who is who is really difficult. To at least have the option to group and sort charcters based on legacy name would fix this. It would also give a cleared picture about how many people there actually is in a guild since you could count the number of legacys instead of just getting the number of members. In the friends list I would like to see something like Nickname Legacyname is logged in as Nickname2 or perhaps just make players that are logged in as another character in the same legacy another shade of grey in the friends list and enable /w legacyname so you could reach your friends even if they were playing an alt. I would however not like a friends list only based on legacy as the system is design now since I identify all my friends by thier character name and in most cases don't even know their legacy name, not to mention that you don't get a legacy name at early levels. If this is implemented I think there should be an option to make your legacy online status invisible when you don't want to be disturbed.

Niddhog
It has been confirmed that we will at least get speeders at an earlier level from legacy. I believe they also mentioned races... but I think they ment republic could roll chiss/Empire roll miraluka instead of actually adding "new" races (THEY ARE ALREADY IN THE GAME LET ME BE A KALESH D: D: D: D:) There was also a confirmed dev post saying you could tweak how your alt gained EXP. They directly mentioned increasing exp from PvP, meaning if you really loved pvp, it would be far easier to level 10-50 inside WZ (and their should be a 4th WZ by the time legacy goes live, right?). Neenlon
Just removing class restriction on races seems a bit lame, even thou I guess it's better then nothing. To make it feel like a real reward they should offer us new races. If I'm gonna roll a new character, playing a more exotic race would be fun. And I agree, they are already in the game! How hard can it be when most already are availble as companions. Just let us play them. I don't really care for changes to the leveling system, but I guess that could be ok as well. I'm currently leveling an republic alt to my empire main to see the republic content and if I got a bonus on xp gain I would have to skip content or do gray quests. But I can see the merit if you are a pvp player. About that, wouldn't a common valor rank be a good legacy reward. I play some pvp but aren't anywhere close to getting enough valor to get battlemaster gear. Can't imagine thats something you would like to grind up on two different characters. Baaleos
Am I the only one who feels little let down by the 'so far confirmed' perks granted by the Legacy System. When I heard there was going to be a Legacy system, along the lines of 'Your Family Legacy' and heard it likened to the Skywalker Lineage, I thought... Oh Cool... So it means things like Small Passive Buffs such as Force Damage increase, Force Recovery etc Kinda like how Anakin was Uber Strong in the force, and so all of his legacy/lineage were also strong in the force. So far, I havent heard any mention of passives, or combat bonuses, or anything that directly affects stats of characters. I know it was said 'Granted access to powers and abilities that they would not normally have' But this all seems to have been overshadowed by people wanting things like Species Restrictions lifted, Speeder Changes etc Does anyone else not have any preferred abilities that they would like seen introduced via Legacy? eg - Legacy Bonus - Vergence in the Force Jedi Sage/Sith Sorcerer - 2% Increase on Force Damage (All Powers) Other Classes - 2% Force Resistance eg - Legacy Bonus - Impulsive/Hastful Sith Juggernaut or whatever it is- Rage Builds 2% faster. Other Classes - 1% Alacrity Bonus eg - Legacy Bonus - Immoral Gain Darkside Points x2 as fast Gain Light Side points half as fast eg - Legacy Bonus - Defiant Jedi Sage/Sith Sorcerer - CC Abilities are 3-8% Longer in Duration Other Classes - CC Abilities on character are 5% Shorter in Duration Just an example of some passive bonuses Maybe some active powers could be long recharge powers. 30 Minute recharges, that are only usable after level 10 and scale to your level in power strength. eg Power of the Force 30 Minute Recharge 1 Minute Duration 10% Bonus to Force Recharge rate + 0.5% per Character Level (35% Bonus at level 50) Force Focus 30 Minute Recharge 5 Second Activation Time 50 * (0.76 per Character Level) + 150 Damage Ranged Attack (5% Bypasses Armor)
KiaThas
Some good points... Although some are just to skip annoying points in the game, they shouldn't fix them by putting them into legacy they should just fix them.
Baaleos
Some good points... Although some are just to skip annoying points in the game, they shouldn't fix them by putting them into legacy they should just fix them. I agree with you on the points about the Speeder Changes. Why make legacy characters able to use them at an earlier level and not normals? I mean, we are running around killing monsters from level 1 on wards. Does our character really need a certain level before they can get a license to drive a speeder Maybe a quick way of fixing this, would be to make the Speeder Speed bonus, scale with level. Level 25 Speeders grant 90% speed bonus. Make them available from level 1, and you get a % of 90% that increases per level up to 25, when they would provide the full 90% speed, and then everything from there is identical to the current system. eg - 3.6% Speed Increase per level from level 1 - 25 (This grants the default 90% at level 25, as well as maintaining balance of pvp in Contested Zones) eg - level 10's wont be able to speed away from level 25's Where as a Level 25 could Speed away from a level 10 due to the speed % difference.
