sakshale Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 What to say when you report a bug? or conversely, What do you already know when I report a bug? I was looking at one of the bugs I reported and realized that I am making assumptions about how much information is automatically included with the report by the /bug command. As an example, the report I was looking at simply stated; "Invisible wall - I cannot move South." This was based on the assumption that the bug tracker would automatically know where I was located. Is that a valid assumption? What information do I need to include in a /bug report? Sakshale

If an area in the wolrd, then your location would be good. Your actions that produced the bug etc. Too much info cannot be too much. Better to go overboard a bit then leaving them scratching their heads if you assumed certain info would automatically be included.
Sizzurps Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 (edited) I usually say "Here's another bug you guys won't solve. Here's what happened <explain situation>." Good luck! Edited February 15, 2012 by Sizzurps

sakshale Posted March 7, 2012 Author Posted March 7, 2012 I came into this thread expecting a joke. Oh well. LOL - When I look back at it, I agree that my phrasing could be interpreted a wee bit different from what I intended. I am disappointed that nothing productive has come from someone "in the know". It would make a good FAQ to help players help the support team.
