Skirnirr
I was wondering if there was any class similar to the warlock of world of warcraft and if so what spec?
hadoken
Not the complete package, no. Dot users in this game cap out at 2 dots, and they are the sage/sorc and dirty fighting gunslinger/lethality sniper. They also don't have any dispel protection on their dots (though not everyone can dispel everything). And there are no pet classes in PVP, everyone is a pet class in PVE. DLSilence
Watchman spec for sentinels is dot based as well.. but again, it's nothing compared to the other game you mentioned.
JoyProtocol
I would suggest a Dirty Fighting Smuggler (Scoundrel for more damage at the cost of melee range, Gunslinger for less damage but with long range) or the equivalent Lethality Imperial Agent (Operative for melee, Sniper for ranged). You would be looking at a build like this: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#7010cZGbZhrbkrrhdhR.1 (Scoundrel Smuggler) or http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#400bcZbcZGbbkrrhdhR.1 (Sniper Agent) Your gameplay becomes: apply DoT's, apply Debuff, spike with Cull/Wounding Shot that deals more damage with each DoT. Kanekama
Sabo Gunslinger is pretty crazy as well. They effectively get 3 DOTS if you spec up Blazing Speed. It only lasts 4 seconds, but it still is technically a DOT. You also have Vital Shot and Shock Charge. Incendiary Grenade is technically a DOT as well, it's just a ground AOE with no channel. Mapex
Not the complete package, no. PyroTech BHs and Trooper equivalents also have 2 DoTs. The question is do you want more of a chaotic sorcerer look and feel with "magic" attacks (Destruction ~= Consular/Sorcerer), abilities that actually exploit your DoTs for extra damage (Affliction ~= Smuggler/IA), or more raw tankiness (Demonology ~= BH/Trooper). Once you decide on which of the three you like best, then you can choose if you want to be more ranged or more melee oriented. OldMatey
Vengence Juggs can Talent for three DOTs: Force Scream, Impale and Shatter The majority of the Jugg talents are melee however which is vastly different from the Warlock

samguard
tip: forget about wow. if you want to play a warlock go play a warlock in wow. 2nd tip: when asking people advice on what class to play, dont just name a class in wow, say what your looking for. I.e do you like warlocks because of the utility/survivability/DoT playstyle. or cos you like spellcasting/cloth wearing/demon training wizzards. Raani
Tip: stop spazzing when people use a WoW term and get over yourself. OP, probably the closest equivalent you'll find is Sage/Sorcerer, since it's the only advanced class which has a true caster feel. They get one tree which has a mix of DoTs and casts, and one tree which relies more on instants. It's not really any closer to warlock specs than it is to shadow priest or fire mage or boomkin, but it's fun to play. Also, if you go dark-side, you can be more evil than any warlock could hope to. Commando and Gunslinger are the other ranged ACs, and some of their trees have DoTs, but they don't have a caster feel at all. Jedi Knight, Scoundrel DPS, and Shadow Consular are all melee, so I suspect you wouldn't like them.
stilari
Sorcerer/Sage as the above poster mentioned. Closest thing to a pure "caster" style character in the game. Offers a spec which utilizes DOTs etc.
shadowAI
madness/lightening sorc thats properly speced is like a affliction warlock/spriest/mage combined with the sprint of a rogue and the knockback of ele shaman. Also unlike any of the above mentioned classes the sorc does not have mana issues compared to lets say a spriest.
pinkfreudHC
31 point Madness Sorc. Three DoTs (one spammable) and a spammable channeled spell. Or do the hybrid thing at the expense of one DoT and a gain of a ton of other stuff.
JohnAntilles
Yeah the 31 pt madness Sorc is definetly the closest class to a Warlock, though it plays more plike a Warlock/Mage hybrid.
Dracosz
madness sorc or lethality op

Lol what do you mean get over myself? im just saying there's nothing really like a warlock. which there isn't... i've seen so many threads of people asking for a mirror class to a wow class. Don't tell me im spazzing out because im trying to help him understand something. If you would like an example when i played wow i liked the idea of ranged dps, but then didnt like the idea of spell casting so i went hunter. this guy might want to play like a lock but not want to do physical damge or use a gun, therefore it would be easier to advise him on what class to select. cheers for your awesome attitude though.
