Labradoraki Posted February 14, 2012 Share Posted February 14, 2012 AFTER the main nerf on acid blade and stun duration operatives were the weakest class since ANYONE could kill them due to their squishiness and ALSO didnt do enough damage to kill someone else in time.... Take facerolling away, there is no reason to play them or another class. Every other class brings more to the table. Valor 65 Operative here. I now run a fresh 50 powertech and i have way more influence in how games turnout. I can make a difference in the battle now. You still have an alpha strike, it is just more like the shadow's instead of insta death. My two main characters are a Sage and a Shadow. I use my Shadow to guard turrets, etc, all the time and hold off the attackers long enough for reinforcement. You can do the same. When I meet a character with equal gear, I cannot beat them, regardless of their class. Worst of all, against tank classes and marauders I cannot even take away 50% of their health at all. As of now the only thing we can do is taking out characters on half health who run away from the pack. We can't even go healing cause both mercs and sorcs are better at that too. I don't really understand that we do subpar damage, but have a massively low amount of defense, armor and otherwise survivability all because of stealth, which doesn't give us any real benefit to begin with? Who knows maybe youll do well, you dont need your silly stealth for healing after all. You can stealth away if you dont have any dots while you do so even, kick some balls, knock some lights out with a bang, prevent people from running away. Theres plenty of skills you can use as a healer smug/op that doesn't require cover or stealth in the slighest. And you will still be a credit to your team. Though managing energy is a bit hard I heard compared to the others, but that's were your challenge will lie. Qqing about it won't solve it either way. I'm a medical op and I have a lot of fun playing it in PvP but we are clearly the red-headed step-child of healing classes for a host of reasons (lack of movement-knockbacks/difficult resource management/poor burst healing/ no "oh ****" abilities/ poor survivability/ escape mechanism (vanish) effectivley takes you out of the game for 10 seconds even if it works). I hated getting two shotted by ops but this kinda nerfing to a stealth dependant class is silly. Unfortunately MMO DEVS can't seem to figure out how to balance rogue classes no matter the game. They use the same tired designs and ultimately end up shafting their consumers who enjoy that archetype... I think if they make them less bursty out of stealth and allow them to get into stealth more often/sooner would be a good start at addressing the class, but just nerfing DMg is FAIL on so many levels... Then there is something totally wrong... Cause the dps a shadow / assassin does INCREASES after the first 3 cooldowns, while for the operative it's the other way round.
