xSerge
One of my biggest complaints about customization is the lack of distinct playable races. What we've got now are all re-skinned colored humans. Things like Cyborg or Miraluka are plain insulting. You could add those implants and eye bandages for humans if you wanted them so badly. Chiss is blue human. Mirialan is green human. Rattataki are white humans. Sith and Zabrak are a bit different but not so much. Twi’lek is the most "unique" race you can play. And those are basically humans too. With silly hair. Thats like making sci fi MMO and giving us 3 races: African, Asian, Caucasian. Compare this to WoW, for example: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/game/race/ Huge furry Worgen. Small green sneaky goblins with huge ears. Buff blue Draenai with tails(!) 2 kinds of "generic" elves. Minotaur like Taurents. "Small humans" like Dwarf and Gnomes Tall trolls and smelly undead. Even races which are "related". Undead and humans, have different posture, animations. Dont even get me started for emotions. Every race is different. And its not like BW cant do that too! Wookies, Jawas, Bothan... Hell, let us play AS ROBOTS. I mean combat droids and like. RPing one would be cool. http://images.wikia.com/starwars/images/a/a7/Assassin_droid_TOR.jpg But now... Colored humans! Blam! P.S. I dont care about voice over. Droids can use human sounds files with effects(Like when you wear a helmet). Alies can speak their few lines of non english jibberish for every occasion like NPCs do. Redmarx
No, do not want furries. Enough with ridiculous looking monsters and animals in armour. Wookies and Yoda species are borderline fine but do not take it further. Edited February 14, 2012 by Redmarx

gryhmr
The race choices are completely boring. I want to be a Wookie or a Mon Cal. As it is I chose to play as a human in this game because the other playable races were uninspired (except Chiss which have cool lore behind them but I'm Republic). The lack of choice is probably because of the romance option in the game... but those options like in other bioware titles felt shallow and tacked on. I did not really care and getting the romance option was just pressing a button that said flirt.

You know all the women you could romance could just be considered "freaky" and be cool with you being a wookiee or whatever. Easy Solution. SamuraBob_Fl
To be serial this time... I think adding more races to the game would be awesome, and I hope it comes in. That said, people lose me when they say WoW has more choice. I mean, you basically have 2 options: 1. Human. You get toggles for being short, being reskinned, and having funny ears. 2. Fursuit. But it really doesn't matter because you went undead for WoTF anyway.

Izorii
I agree I think the playable species is boring. I would love to see more alien species coming in. As for legacy I believe its just same species more classes so another *yawn*
Heretiq
I'm just going to go ahead and quote myself once again. You guys simply won't get it. Take a look at the races that are currently available. 1. They can all wear the same gear (with minor changes to the head-slot) 2. They are all about the same size 3. They are all humanoids 4. They all speak the same language So these races were all cherry-picked for a specific reason: Developing-convenience and -ease. That is why you won't get your Jawas and your Wookies and your Yodas anytime soon. Because it would require a sh*t-ton of work and time to implement a race that doesn't meet the specifications above. Especially considering the amount of voice-acting that is in this game. Granted that the game is missing enough features as it is (LFD, dual-specialization, challenging and properly working PvE endgame content, ....) their priorities probably lie elsewhere right now. So stop asking these "LOL y no wookies? wouldve been so cool ROFL"-questions.

This ^^^. We got lets see... Human Dwarf - undersized human, overexaggerated beards and drinking problems Gnomes- undersized dwarves. Goblins - Gnomes with green skin and weird ears. Night Elves- Purpleish blue humans with long ears. Blood elves - basically night elves, except with human colored skin Orcs- green humans with fangs Trolls - skinny/tall orcs Tauren- Cows... seriously? Worgen- human/wolf Draenai - Sith Pureblood with purple skin Pandas- Furry threads.
Dire-Wolf
I wouldn't say the current species are boring, they've each got pretty interesting lore (except cyborgs), but a few new species would be nice. I'd like to see Togruta, Nautolan, Voss and Trandoshan become playable sometime in the future.
Diet-Hutt
One of my biggest complaints about customization is the lack of distinct playable races. You sure? The other day I was on the porch relaxing and the sun came out so I just kind of put my bandanna over my eyes to take a quick nap. The next thing you know I hear screams, shouts, and panicking. People are freaking out saying that there's an alien outside and to call the police for help! It was total chaos. It took me a minute to realize they meant me. It was all good once I took the blindfold off to show them I was actually a human. It's a subtle line I guess. - DH Edited February 14, 2012 by Diet-Hutt

EACH WoW race is hand crafted and beautifully animated. http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080204122822/wowwiki/images/thumb/a/ac/Hunter_PvP_Sets.jpg/754px-Hunter_PvP_Sets.jpg Each SWTOR race is human skeleton with different models. http://www.wikiswtor.com/Playable_species Are you blind? xxAtticusxx
To me... even though they look similar, the SWTOR species feel more real because of the story behind them. Forget animation, just the lore behind them makes them more real than those crappy races from WoW.

If you can't see the the lazy solution Bioware took with races, you need to take off your rose-tinted glasses. When I first saw the "cyborg"-button, I thought "wow, I guess this one will be cool-looking." and clicked it....and it's just the same model with some lame metalbits on its head.... The biggest problem with this is that EVERYTHING ELSE in this game is just as half-assed. They used 200 million dollars and did a piss poor job. That's it. This game is so bad it's not even funny anymore considering I wasted euro's on this crap.
gabusan
You have 4 different body types that give more than enough variation. Facial features, which are an important part of cutscenes, are varied enough too. After a while playing WoW, all night elves looked basically the same. There are more than nightelves in WoW....trying to compare the lame character-creation in SW:ToR with the characters available in WoW is just too stupid to even be called fanboyism...more like rose-tinted brownnosing. All races in WoW have totally different height, width, animations, emotes which again makes a lot more job for the designers when they make weapons and armor. Bioware chose the lazy way out to make that job easier.
