Vase Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Bioware my patience is waning with this silence about the population imbalance. Every day in Warzones the imps get free win after free win they get to complete their dailies at will. While republic has to work hard to get a fraction of their dailies completed. No even talking about the crap you call world PVP. Starting a game with 6 on 8 is a terrible design. Even if they are filled after the game starts most are all ready lost due to defense having an advantage. It just widens the gear gap further every day that its not addressed. That's if republic people don't switch for the obvious favored faction or quit. Please address this issue Bioware give the underdogs a buff or something.
carliiiiito Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 bioware has nothing to do with this,no matter what incentive they give the imbalance will still be there. Just 1 example of what i mean,Force lightning.Possibly the most iconic/recognized ability in all of star wars, just for that reason a ton of people will choose empire. Pretty much every mmo i played the "evil" side has more people. I really dont see what bioware or EA could do to change that.
Lammio Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Problem is that Empire has more attractive chars, if you ask me. Compare the classes with eachother: Jedi Knight -> Sith Warrior = Jedis are peace loving hippies while Sith are walking nightmares Jedi Consular -> Sith Inq = UNLIMITED POWER!! nuf said Trooper -> Bounty Hunter = same skills, only how they look like uhm Mortar Volley or Death from Above???? Smuggler -> Imperial Agent = i play the IA Sniper, why?? thats 1 thing I dont know This is only my opinion. But its logic that there is imbalance, the one who has to restore the balance in the Force is simply not born yet. the Empire will be stronger then the Republic for the next 2000 years.
RodrickWhite Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Well, I agree with OP, he is not necessarily asking BIO or EA, for a solution to the root cause of the issues stated... which is server unbalance. Instead he is asking for contingency measures to be adopted, and bearing in mind the server unbalance which exists in pretty much all swtor servers, maybe change the queuing and start conditions, for warzones. These could be changed to something like... start queuing players on both sides, once the countdown for any given instance, has reached 0, check how many players are queued on both sides, and cut the number down to the number of the team which has the least players. Then the warzone game can start balanced, maybe the player which has been left out, because of the lack of players on the other side, could still be in queue, awaiting for an extra player from the other team to appear. Then an extra player on each side, could be added. Once no "originally queued" players are left, then the system is open, for a came first, placed first basis... which is once warzone has started, maybe a couple of players leave instance, or go afk... then the game, as it is today, will just replace them as soon as it gets an available replacement. Hopefully this had not ended up being to confusing
flem Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 (edited) On my server Republic has won several level 50 Voidstars that started with 5 people on defense just in the last few days... don't remember losing any that way in that time either. But the cavalry did show up after a few minutes; it's rather nasty if they don't. Edited February 10, 2012 by flem
Dariuss Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 What effect does population imbalance have on wining warzones? I see republic win at least 50% of the time on ones I'm involved in.... mostly because when imperials say '4 left, 4 right' it apparently means '5 left, 3 mid, 1 right, oh no we're all dead', but that's beside the point
Celebrus Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Not only is this not helpful to anyone, including new players (not sure why you didn't post this in PvP forums if you felt you had to post it AT ALL). However, you're not helping anything by complaining about a problem that is either not big enough to fix, or is too big to fix quickly. They are aware, you aren't doing them or yourself any favors by posting this. We would all be better served if you simply took it to your pillow.
