BobaFurz Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 (edited) swgemu is running more strong than ever I hard after closing down official servers Edited February 10, 2012 by BobaFurz
tehnewrb Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I do admit swg has many things that I think other mmos (sw:tor included) should include, that there was much lacking in it. I'll list off the pros first: diverse skill system, you could mix any set of skills ranging from mixing melee skills to be the toughest melee character, to the most deadly ranged character or a mix. Pro number two: a robust crafting system, with cities that players could literally build and every item worth using in the game besides jedi items came from crafters. It was always fun (for me at least) finding the best crafted items off master crafter vendors (who actually owned the vendors that they placed in their own houses which were usually well decorated) not like going to some named NPC for the 100th time to buy mats. Now for some of the cons: The only regretable thing about the skill system is combat and crafting skills were not separated leading to most people going all combat / all crafting. Also, many people enjoyed getting a jedi character, yet I think many more people thought that it was absurd to have an alpha class that took forever to unlock (at first anyways...). Which in many respects I believe the alpha class jedi lead to the "New Game Enhancements" which everyone who played SWG knows was the death knel of the last few game overhauls. They filled the lack of content in the NGE yet they took the heart and the community out of the game, leaving most servers ghost towns. TLDR version: Original SWG = good, last version of SWG = bad, but with added content for the ten people who still played it...
BlazingShadow Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 SWG was great in all forms. I miss it as much as I miss my girlfriend that used to play it with me... yeah, I took a doublewhammy.
