Stealth - a simple fix to Scoundrel

Reduce cooldown of Disappearing Act to 20s, remove cooldown reduction from Flee the Scene. Exact number for the cooldown is up for debate, but it needs to be short enough to make stealth relevant again, without making it so short that Scoundrels would be almost impossible to kill.

As I see it, the problem with the Scoundrel is that it's clearly a class balanced around using stealth, but stealth cannot be used in combat except once every 2-3 minutes, gimping the class in any prolonged fight like a Boss encounter or PvP Warzone.

So they could either give us the tools we need to succeed without stealth like more CC, defensive cooldowns, utility, mobility, better sustained damage and so on and put an enormous amount of effort into bringing us up to snuff... Or they could just make stealth relevant in prolonged combat and mitigate a lot of our problems:

-We lack sustained damage in Scrapper? An extra Flechette, Shoot First and Upper Hand (1-2 extra Sucker Punches) every 20s.

-We lack in mobility, ability to flee or close the gap? Flee the Scene grants +50% speed for 6s while the enemy is unable to target you, every 20s.

-We lack defensive cooldowns or the CC to get attackers off us? Stealth is our defensive cooldown. Stealth gets attackers off us. Every 20s.

-Dirty Fighting needs more ways to reliably get Upper Hand? Well... here's one more reliable UH, every 20s. (yes I know this wouldn't solve all DF problems, but it would be nice)

-No reason to be Sawbones over a healing Sage? Well this probably wouldn't help much in PvE, but in PvP it'd let you move in relative safety, pop out to heal from unusual angles, and slip away when we get noticed, every 20s.

We are the stealth class, designed for hit and run. Our mobility was designed for using stealth to approach, chase and exit. Our damage was designed for a powerful burst from stealth. Our survivability is lacking because we were designed to depend on healing and stealth to live. We could ask BioWare to expend a lot of effort to make the least used class in the game more like every other class in the game. Or we could ask them to give us the stealth our class was designed to revolve around.

What do you think?

I agree that Flee the Scene can be used as a gap closer, 20s is probably too little of a cooldown imo. 30-40s seems like it would be enough.

I hate the long refresh on CC break more. With the amount of combat in PvP I get dropped needing it more than most other things.

I will say that I have to have crits on the burst to drop people fast enough now, else its not enough. Sorcs and Sages with bubble just can take too much to drop fast.

If I had DA every 20 seconds, I would never die. I would also still not be able to kill people, because our damage is so low. So it would give us impossible survivability, and wouldn't help with our real issue. Doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

Seconded.
