Nerf pvp eq for pve

I can understand needing to balance pvp gear gain even if i am unsure of the way you want to do it now is smart (you need to find a new starting point and then remove the large part of rng for them)

But (and yes there is always a but)

You need to nerf pvp eq for pve hard, the total stat loss is not big enough compared to the ease and way of aquirement especialy since you deigned to lock all crafted 126+ loot to either bop or Heavy use of hard mode raiding mats (in essence you need to raid hardmode to get normal mode lvl gear for crafting...eeeh)

Without nerfing pvp gear for pvp or making pve gear a better option i suggest following:

Expertise should in addition to current bonuses also add a -healing, -damage outgoing/incoming equal to its bonuses IF you fight a MOB/NPC, basicly a 10% pvp expertise bonus would incur a 10% pve penalty.

This would help your longterm goal of more crafter based economy, it would help your struggling hardmode play, it would help raids pugs and guilds and it would make aqusition of gear equal (aka no solo quing for hardmode and above gear).

Another suggestion is to not make the 126 raid dropped craft gear bop, its kinda useless as it is.

I want proper PVE gear , for doing what this game said it would do , play story !!

Sorry so playing your game doesn´t get rewarded...

Then I wonder what gets rewarded those people who just skip stories and pvp for valor.

And then are ready for endgame ?

Honestly designer rushed the last stages of development , and totally forgot about PVE .

So when are we getting proper PVE equipment , I don´t care if it is doing dailies ..

But where are the freaking pre operations or HM gear , if you only want to PVE !!

in essence you have a good point. I think adding my suggested pve penalty to the expertise is a perfect fix realy.

I don't think the problem is PvP gear tbh, I think it's poorly designed PvE structure.

Low end PvE gear/crafted gear should be better than it is currently.

The problem in a linear system when you start messing with ilvls is you have to redo it from the start which takes a huge deal of effort and requires basicly a game reset (aka expension if you play wow)

the ilvl currve already is to steep to last us anymore than 1 year, the scaling if continued like this linearly will create a scenario in 6 months where a new 50 vs an old 50 is night and day which is not a smart way of designing a game.

The far simper fix is to adjust what expertise does to reduce its impact on pve.

I'd prefer there NOT to be PVE and PVP gear. If all gear was the same (non-expertise), you'd be able to raid and still hold your own if you pvp once in a while, and vice versa if you pvp a lot and want to raid once in a while.

Its'a ridiculous grind to have to get PVE and PVP gear. Not to mention having a DPS and TANKING set of both. That's 4 sets of gear. Crazy. Especially considering the turn around of gear becoming obsolete for the next best thing. Less gear driven and more novelty driven content is the way to go. Let skill decide who succeeds at PVP and PVE, not gear.

My 2 cents.

I completely agree. Not to mention it sucks that you essentially have to grind in PvP to even get the gear to compete in PvP. A friend of mine who just hit 50 used to love PvP, but hates it now that he's stuck fighting people with expertise gear while he has none, and I fear he'll sooner quit the game than endure the grind to get gear just to be on a level playing field again. People with a gear advantage is like fighting someone several levels higher without bolster.

The reason for something like expertise is allegedly to prevent raiders from owning everyone who isn't geared up with the best raid gear. In previous MMOs before PvP stats, people who were only interested in PvP couldn't compete with raiders who rarely PvP'd and could faceroll due to superior gear.

However, now those with the highest PvP level can faceroll others, regardless of skill. It's still the same problem, just different people. People who PvP the most don't need a gear advantage, because they have experience and have likely developed more skill. I'm not saying raiders should have a gear advantage either. Nobody should have a gear advantage in PvP. It's PvP, not "who has the most PvP tenure".

I think gear giving an advantage kind of goes against the spirit of PvP. When someone with expertise is fighting someone without expertise, it's not a competition of skill anymore unless the person with expertise is a complete and utter idiot. It's not fun to lose to someone with a massive gear advantage, and it's not fun (IMO) to beat someone because they have worse gear than me. Too bad there isn't some kind of bolster for gear in PvP.

What if they reduced the durability on PVP gear so that it would not last through an entire HM? Like make the durability 25 on all the PVP gear, and left the stats alone. It doesn't receive damage in WZs anyway and would keep you alive though one or more open world fights if you get caught off guard but would not be viable for end game PVE.
