FIX focus and self target healing!

I have played MANY games ALWAYS as the healer. I do not mind non-mouseover play. What I do mind is that it is currently unplayable. The way they have designed this game for healing is currently just not working.

The focus target and Self target modifiers DO NOT WORK! They are originally bound to the Home and End buttons but of course I have changed them to fit my play style. Unfortunately you can not bind them to a shift, ctrl, or alt key. What is up with that?

When I do hit my modifier to heal my focus target it is RANDOM. If I am luck the heal actually goes off on the focus. If I am unlucky it goes off on my target or myself. If I can not accurately calculate where my heal is going to land PEOPLE DIE=unplayable.

So I thought this was something I was doing wrong so I checked all my setting. Brought down my action queue to zero seconds thinking that the delay on the action queue was queuing the wrong spell. But it still happens! Is this from in game delay or lag?

So I put in a ticket and guess what I got? "thanks you, but unfortunately we can not discuss the outcome of this ticket. Have a great day(dieing)!"

Does anyone else have any other better suggestions on how to heal with modifiers. I don't want to have to keep changing targets constantly.

I've run testing on this myself - and found that Focus Targeting worked reliably when actions were not queued. If you're seeing it with 0 second action queue, then that's something new to me. I'll do more testing to see if something has changed since the last patch.

I personally find that not being able to allocate a modified keybind as a modifier makes sense. Say you have Shift-F as a focus modifier and Shift-1 set to an action... then when you hit Shift-F and 1... there'd be no way for the game to work out which ability to launch; the one bound to Shift-1 or the one bound to 1. It would end up creating the possibility of double modifiers without being able to differentiate clearly... and that's bad in any UI.

Just ran a few hundred test casts. There is indeed a new behaviour where the cast will still fail to acquire the Focus Target when you have a 0 sec action queue.... however, it's pretty rare. I'd say about 1 in 50 casts during the testing I did.

It would indeed seem to be linked to a hitch in the animation for the heal I was casting. When that hitch happened, the heal would land on myself and not on the focus target. It may well be that in the fixes for the action delays that they put in last patch, they've actually caused a further problem for Focus Targeting somehow.

I've bug reported it as a new bug.

They really have to sort it out...

Trust me I have done a lot of testing. Even if it only happens one out of 50 that 1 could cost you the whole encounter if someone dies from it. Plus I am not sure if you tested it in combat/grouped but it gets A LOT worse with the delays/lag in the queue. Yes, I still have my action queue option turned to 0 seconds.
