Bad Performance and Bugs will seriously impact this games subscription base

I love SWTOR. Granted it has it's weaknesses but well, what game doesn't. :)

But the performance of this game is atrocious, and it's only getting worse. :(

I mean this isn't a game using the Froztbite 2 or Unreal 3 engine, yet it perfomes much worse.

Don't get me wrong, I like the style and graphics. The artstyle they chose will not age as fast, which is good for MMO's.

But it really should perform much better. If you switch everything to low it looks hardly better then WoW, yet it performs really bad compared to it.

I have met so many people ingame that are going to stop playing for a while until the performace inproves.

The bugs would be another issue. Many people stop playing because of the too many bugs.

Personally I can live with the bugs, but the performace and the delay in using your skills is really getting to me.

I see me playing less and less and playing games like Witcher 2 which run flawless.

I really think that BW should try to fix this asap (I'm sure they are trying).

At the moment the game still feels like it's been released too early.

Every PC game has issues with different hardware.

Mine has no performance issues with TOR. Usually I'm the one having problems. Trust me

It just seems that SWTOR has issues with many PC's sadly. :(

And talking to many people ingame, most seem to have issues as well.

I have two PC's I can play it on and it doesn't perform great on either sadly.

I'm fortunate to have a PC that runs Witcher 2 fluently on high settings and I'm quite savvy on PC's (used to support desktops for years).

Tried loads of different things and I usually manage to get most games work decent on my PC, but no luck with SWTOR.

Which really confirms for me, that this game has been released prematurely.

If I would be one of the few having the issues I wouldn't mind (BW would not be able test all possible combinations), but from what I hear it's quite a lot people that suffer.

And the performance issue often comes from laggging too and not just graphics performance by itself.

its just strange that despite issues with many PCs my guild has has net to no performance issues mentioned by any members, if any. Guess we were all very lucky in our PC choice. (well there was a server side lag issue one night but Bioware even acknowledged it was the server)

You're not the only one having this problem zappo.

I could play WoW and LOTRO fine on high settings, but even when I play this game in low and turn everything off I can I still run like crap, and it gets steadily worst longer I play as well.

Ya everyone I know also must have hit the good computer lotto. I know people hate to hear this but a lot of issues with performance are because they do not know how to optimize their PC or windows. Plug the thing in turn it on thats all they know.

110% Agree.

People will deal with lack of endgame blah blah , knowing more is coming , people will put up with bad PVP , knowing more is coming and being fixed.

Bad performance and bugs people will not put up with. Im worried for this game not because of end game PVP ect or server balance , because eventually these will be fixed.

But i dont believe they have the will or time to fix the performance of this game, and the bugs they cant squash .

My guild had 65 members avg 25-35 people online at 1 time , we are now down 7 subscribers and avg of 2 people on at a time , all quit down to performance and poop pvp.
