Hot Rigged Speeder Bike

Got this recipe for my 400 cybertech, level 41. My sith Warrior, level 47 getting close to 50 finally gets underworld trading to 400. So I spend the day farming UW6 metal send it to my cybercrafter, exited for the extra motivation to level to 50. Put the bike in the queue. 45 minutes later, euphoria.

Run to the mailbox, type in my sith warriors name, attach the speeder bike. Coulda swore I attached the speeder bike. Hmm, did my mouse input bug out again? What's that? Bound? Huh?

This says it all, but why are custom speeder bikes bind on pickup? This makes no sense! The materials cost on these make them way more expensive than what I can buy off a vendor, so why limit them to max level cybertechs. Even Biotechs can sell their biotech only stims! Why? Change it. I am bug reporting it every day unless you give me a good reason for it. Thoughts?

Sounds like creating a reason to take Cybertech to me. Maybe the Biotech stims shouldn't be useable outside of Biotech.

And whats that? if it's not changed because you don't like it you will stamp your feet?

Really? I'm pretty sure you have be 13+ to play this game.

The reason you take cybertech or ANY other crafting skill is to make things for people. Possibly making money in the process but not always. I have 6 characters rolled, one for each craft. So I can make things for my other characters.

If it's only intended for me, why not make it a single use recipe? I can make and unlimited supply of these things, just need the mats, but they will sit in my inventory. I'm not stamping my feet. I was trying to put some humor into the post, because the logic of it is laughable at best.

I don't think it's a bug honestly...

Your complaint that it ends up being more expensive than the custom speeders is not entirely true (lucky crits with UT6 metal missions can happen).

And what would you price it at for people who want to be able to put them up on the GTN? Probably well over the cost of any speeders, barring the 1.5 million CE one. So why would people buy it? (unless they have already bought *every* other speeder possible)

This is working as intended, since it wasn't changed during the Beta at all.

I have no doubt its WAI. I will still bug report it every day until it changes, because the only way it will change if people want it to change. WAI does not mean the intention was correct. I didn't play WOW, so I don't care what they do. I played EQ, DAOC, DDO, LOTRO and Rift and have never seen bind on pickup craftables! I'm all for copying things that work well, but when you accidentally copy things that don't, don't be afraid to change it.

No thank you. BoP craftables are a means of rewarding the time and effort of levelling the craft imo. If anything my opinion is that all the crafting crew skills should have an element of exclusivity to encourage people to level it.

And I thought the daily ticketing was just a joke? You telling the same joke twice or are you really wasting supports time on this?

That's teh Wizbang granades, those are your perk. The speeders being BOP not having any bonus speed, or true unique look are a terrible perk just like Engineerings only mounts in WoW, was bad then is bad now.

Element of exclusivity? For the level 50 Cybertech speeder? It's a recolor of the level 40 Cybertech speeder, which is a recolor a speeder ANYONE can get.

It's kind of a joke, especially since the Cybertech version costs so much. When I priced the mats, it came out to over 140k, so I skipped it and bought a different speeder from a vendor for 55k.

It's more a screw-job than a reward.

Hmm, What do artificers make that is BoP?

Oh yeah, nothing worth making? heh.

Ill still stick by Bop being unique to each craft, it makes sense. There are going to be new speeders with content updates and more BOPs for each craft as the content flows out.

In Wow Tailoring gave flying carpets and engineers gave motorcycles.

Rift had similar Bops and even Boas.

Not a big deal just pick the craft you want the perks from and do it up.

The speeders arent really a big deal right now they are just a different color.

Will have to disagree then. Exclusive mounts are a good idea imo and there should be more of them spread over the different skills, or at least variations on the theme.

I agree but not really the point being discussed. Needs a little more work but we should give them a little time I think.

The fact other crafters don't get something doesn't support the argument that the ones that do shouldn't get it but rather that the ones that don't need to be given that special something of their own. A point you'll notice I support personally.

Cannot agree more. I am hoping that they didn't put much thought into this side of things over making the game as good as it is before launch, but that as time goes on they will take a closer look at balancing the crafts out more and spending a little more time than a quick spray paint job :D

Time and effort? You mean all of the 4 hours I spend clicking buttons every few minutes to keep the crafting queues up and RE the greens that come out?

I'm tired of the time and effort argument in swtor. Very little of the game requires effort, mostly it requires time. However the time it does require is miniscule compared to many other MMO's that don't give any such rewards.

Wow, you're my hero.

Meanwhile in the real world other people don't have the time to sit clicking a button over and over when they could be actually playing the game. And that doesn't even address the fact that you seem to be in a position where the mats miraculously appear in your inventory so you can stand in one place and do your clicking.

Regardless of how much you yawn at the effort required it does require it to get to a position where you can sit for 4 hours clicking a button, even if you don't consider it time or effort yourself.

I was prolly the first cybertech on my server to 400 (or one of them at least) i was extremely dissappointed when i realize this bike was BOP. Down the road I see this game integrating some type of achievments/challenges and there will be a mount one and this issue will comeback to haunt. Cybertechs have gernades, that is the Crew Skill advantage. This bike if anything should be Bind to Account, I cant even give it to an Alt.

I have no problem making it bind when crafted, but it should be labeled as such in the recipe. I created another toon just for cybertech soon after getting the recipe, took the time to level it, and voila, after creating it I cannot mail it, sell it or trade it. Super waste of time, not to mention the frustration, and annoyance.

The recipe does nothing to indicate that this is the case, and without researching external sources on the internet, there is no way of knowing.

Severely disappointed after taking the time to level crafting on a toon that I will probably never use.

Maybe I should have researched this in advance, but to be honest, nothing else I have crafted has been bind when crafted, and I didn't think to research something I was not aware of.
