Hypernetic
It doesn't mean anything. There are exceptional battlemasters and really bad ones too.
Tenthletter
It means you have Valor Rank 60. That's it. Seen plenty of terrible Battlemasters, and a lot of excellent ones as well. Does hitting level 50 make you good at PVE?
raelimar
It means you have a fair amount of time on your hands. That said, it's much quicker to get there if you win a lot. Edited January 28, 2012 by raelimar

Not really. there's plenty of warzones I lost where I got more valor / commendations than people on the winning team.

staysa
Its like hitting rank 14 in the first WoW honor system, except there is no honor decay and winning or losing don't particularly matter. Working out how to repetitively get max badges is a good idea though.
Roak
grammar police reply #4: you're game doesn't reward good or bad, it rewards time invested, being on the zerg faction of a particular server reduces the time a bit. lllSike
so valor rank 60 doesn't mean anything.... then why is it in the game?
SDFX
If you have basic class play and WZ strategy down, then "good" becomes so gear dependant to define that it means nothing in relation to skill. You can just say "lookie my cool title" and purple chest plate, maybe props to a big V number, then be done with it... *shrugs.* It is what it is. ihateyouall
so valor rank 60 doesn't mean anything.... then why is it in the game? why is lvl 2 in the game? lvl 10? lvl 40? lvl 50?
Roak
so valor rank 60 doesn't mean anything.... then why is it in the game? it is the gating mechanism to stop people without enough time invested from getting (a small rng chance at) tier 3 pvp armour. xxdragonragexx
SWTOR has the least amount of time required to get top tiered full geared characters in all of gear progression MMOs that are available right now. People shouldn't really be complaining. Edited January 28, 2012 by xxdragonragexx
Kolbenito
It literallly represents accruing an amount of valor. At least with rank 14 in classic wow you were competing with everyone on your faction each week, and had to be consistently near the top to keep going up in the higher ranks. Given enough warzones everyone can achieve rank 100 in swtor. We won't have a way to measure how good players are in this game until we have rated ladders. Having said all that I have an appropriate amount of respect for Rep BMs that I see, Empire as well although it is hard to know if they just used terrible game mechanics to get it. Skill is definitely not a pre-req though. Edited January 28, 2012 by Kolbenito
Roak
Grind Fest to keep players busy? indeed. ways to pvp: up to level 50 you can do 3 warzones, you also get a daily win a warzone quest and at every 10th level you get a single complete a warzone quest. your valor rank caps at the same level as your actual level. by the time you reach level 50 (and rank 50 if you kept it capped) you can have 1 champion bag (exclusive) and 1k warzone commendations + 1k other warzone (or third warzone) commendations saved up to buy a further 5 champion bags. These bags are what get you the tier 1 and 2 pvp gear. Now you can also earn valor from ilum as well as from warzones. From this point on dailys and weeklys, plus the warone commendations you earn and trade to other warzone commendations go towards the tier 1 and 2 armour until you've done enough valor farming to hit battlemaster (rank 60) and are allowed to go for the tier 3 gear. The tier 3 stuff is restricted to 2 bags a day only, with an extra 2 bags for the weekly - 16 bags a week. Time to go play some more skyrim.
