Really hard to know keybinds

Anybody else find it really hard to remember all of your abilities and bind them? I am used to playing MOBA games where you just have 5 abilities, it's really hard to keep track of them if you have so many.

Got 36 keybind 1 to =, same with ctrl and shift modifier :D for each abilities + med pack, temp stims, grenades (all of em you nevewr know when you could need them) 1 for mount, and all teh shenanigans your spec can have.

There are undoubtedly a LOT of powers. Some are used a lot, some are pretty situational. It does get easier to manage over time, and if you look around you can find some pretty good guides to suggested key binding. I just bought myself a new mouse (razer naga) with a bunch of buttons on the side to help alleviate some of it, though I know that will take some getting used to as well. :)

Start small, just bind the stuff you use alot at first and then once you get the hang of those you can add more if you like, but IMO you really don't need a keybind for every single ability. That is overkill and since repetitive usage is what drives the bindings into your memory in the first place, there is no point in binding stuff you don't use very often.

And if you want to test yourself, turn your UI off (alt Z) here and there while doing regular "kill 10 rats" type of quests, this will help you learn the bindings without constantly looking at the actionbar. And its kind of fun without the UI cluttering the screen up all the time :D

Can't say I have a problem, unless I don't play a particular toon for a while and then go back to them, that can take a little while to get used to again.

I use a Saitek Pro-Gamer Command Unit control pad, which I find easier for remembering what skill is where. Well, I'm not sure it's really remembering it as I'd struggle to actually say what skill is where, I more rely on muscle memory.

As others said, you'll get used to them as long as you're persistant in learning them and actually use keybinds (not clicking..).

For me, the best way to learn a class and its keybinds is to simply pvp (even though I mostly prefer pve). Pvp forces you in a lot of dynamic situations that makes you use a variety of skills, and after every defeat you can look back and re-consider what you could have done otherwise. Maybe this works for you too? :o

Anyway, my keybinds are pretty consistent. A lot of them transferred over from WoW, too. Stuns will always be on B, and abilities that require incapacitated will be on x, for example. Interrupts are always F1, medpacs on F2, cooldowns on one of my extra mousebuttons, etc. Damage over time abilities are always Shift-2, Shift-3, and if needed Shift-1, while my filler ability will always be 2, and my longer cooldown rotational ability on 4. Etc. I'm sure you get the idea. :D If you're consistent like that on all characters, and in all games even, you'll have a lot less trouble remembering your keybinds.

Using the G13 gamepad i currently use 20 keybinds REGUARLY, as in at least once per 1-3 minutes, half of them at least once per 30 seconds, all depending on CD@s of course, and an additional8 on top of that which are situational..... AND I NEED MORE!

So yes, actually learning all your keybinds can be midly difficult. But the key is to try and:

1-map them out logically,

2-map them out EARLY so you don't have to re-learn layouts as you level and,

3-Try to use similar layouts for multiple chars if you do play different chars often.
