il-jumper
Tracer Missle vs Snipe: Tracer Missle is spammable w/o heat problems 3 Snipe gets you below 60 energy thus giving you problems Tracer Missle require no cover Snipe require cover, cover has a delay bug, thus less dps Tracer Missle is kinectic damage, thus unblockable Snipe is physical, it gets migated, deflected, dodged etc So, Tracer Missle is spammable to infinity, without being ever deflected and require no cover. Yes Bioware's Goerg Zoeller needs to go back to the drawing board when it comes to the sniper class. The lack of synergy in the sniper class skills is rediculous. I think the mercs/troopers will get there nerf fairly soon and hopefully Goerg can fix snipers. With that being said I don't think the sniper class is terrible but it does needs some tweaking and the developers need to decide what they want our role to be (whether burst damage- alacrity or High sustained damage (get rid of alacrity)
Cyphile
The infamous "cover bug" that many refer to, is probably (at least from my experiences) gone. I have noticed however; since I begain playing my sniper, is that cover has a deployment time and along with this deployment time, is a delay in the cover bar as well, which (if in the middle of a gcd) can result in the wrong ability being used WHILE in cover, (or the gcd icon being updated late for , or the delaying of that ability by a small margin... I think 2 seconds is much longer than reality... The "delay" is more like .5s or .75s for cover to activate (bars + animation). No cover while rooted... Well i'll save that for a different discussion... I believe you may que up abilities as you are entering cover if they're on a different bar +outside of cover instantly (this may a temp solution to circumvent the cover delay as it stands) , I'd to perform a few test and check it out. DestyOwn
Sucks that the only viable spec in pvp is lethality, and lethality doesnt feel too Sniperish.

For Merc, Tracer is their bread and butter - the skill they HAVE to spam. For us, non-instant Snipe is pretty much something you use only when like everything else is on CD. BIG difference here. Tracer is their core skill, Snipe is our last resort skill. We are not supposed to spam Snipe, to begin with. And for the record, Snipe actually does energy damage... there is no "physical" damage in TOR. It's weapon property, besides giving it damage type, allows deflection and tank shielding, but that's about the whole difference.
